Open Starter: Gabrielle Cordova
It was hard to concentrate now, especially after the accident, and for some reason none of the teachers understood that.
Gabrielle sighed, running a hand through her hair as she tried to focus on the math work at hands. But after being in the hospital for months, not knowing if she would live or die, homework wasn’t on her list of things to focus on.
She sighed, looking up from her place on the bleachers as she watched the football team practice, what a typical thing to see on a high school campus.
Gabby huffed, slamming the math book closed and leaning back. It was like school just moved on, while her best friend was missing or dead. They didn’t seem to care. No one seems to care. She let her fingers trace against the long scar of the side of her head. The hair may never grow back, she remembered the doctor saying. Just another issue at hand.
“Nobody is going to believe me when I tell them I can see you. I know that Simon went off the deep end. He said you were lying, that you were fine, but were gone.” Gabby started to vent. Simon had been fine and then suddenly had changed. He said that Maddie had just ran away. But she had never believed it. Maddie would never just up and leave them.
She pushed her hair from her face, before looking to Maddie. “Wait? You’ve actually met these ghosts? Like you’re friends with them?” She couldn’t help but chuckle, shaking her head. “Way to be Maddie. Making friends in the most macabre way.” She joked. Maddie was friendly, and could make friends, even if it was more in a sad, desolate way.

powerful prompts pt. 2
so i made a list of generic power prompts a while back, and i had a recent inspirational moment, so here we go again! many people sent in wonderful ideas for this, but they were so good and so full of potential for new memes that i’ll revisit them later! as always, with the action memes, please add “REVERSE” to let the receiver know if you want the roles reversed!
ACTION PROMPTS.
[ GLOW ]: sender’s eyes begin to glow as a result of them preparing to use their powers.
[ BLEED ]: sender’s nose begins to bleed as a direct result of them using their powers.
[ RADIANT ]: preparing to use their powers, the sender’s skin begins to glow as they summon their power.
[ KILL ]: while in full view of the receiver, sender uses their powers to kill someone.
[ SAVE ]: sender uses their powers to save the receiver’s life from immediate and otherwise inevitable danger.
[ DEFEND ]: in order to defend themselves from potential harm, the sender prepares to use their powers to fight the receiver.
[ PROTECT ]: in order to protect the receiver from harm, the sender uses their powers to keep them safe and erase the threat.
[ DISPLAY ]: sender tentatively displays a small amount of their power to show a curious receiver what they can do.
[ TEACH ]: sender arrives at receiver’s doorstep to teach them how to use their newly discovered powers.
[ FEAR ]: sender unleashes their powers in a massive way as a result of feelings of fear.
[ WARNING ]: as a warning shot to keep the receiver away from them, the sender releases a quick, brief blast of their powers.
[ GRIEF ]: having recently suffered a massive loss that causes huge feelings of grief, the sender releases a huge wave of their power.
[ RAGE ]: overcome with sheer anger, sender unleashes their power on a massive, uncontrollable scale in front of the receiver.
[ LOST ]: sender uses their powers to the point of losing control, unable to stop, forcing the receiver to try and intervene to limit the damage.
[ CALM ]: witnessing the receiver losing control of their powers, sender frantically calls to them to try and keep them calm and in control.
[ COLLATERAL ]: while using their powers in a reckless and possibly uncontrolled way, sender accidentally and severely wounds the receiver.
[ DEVASTATION ]: sender arrives on scene to find the receiver, having recently lost control of their abilities, surrounded by the consequences. ( i.e. telekinetics surrounded by broken objects, pyrokinetics surrounded by scorched buildings etc. )
[ CONSEQUENCE ]: having just unleashed a massive wave of their powers, sender regains consciousness to discover that the receiver has been fatally wounded as a direct result of their power.
DIALOGUE PROMPTS.
“ you know, it’s really difficult to explain injuries to a doctor when those injuries are caused by literal magic… ”
“ i… i’ve never been able to do that before… ”
“ no, no, uh… something’s wrong. it’s… my powers. my powers are gone. i can’t find them, they’re not… they’re not there anymore. ”
“ you have no idea what i’m capable of! ”
“ i… i’ve hurt people, before. i didn’t mean to. but i did. i lost control, and… i can’t let that happen again. ”
“ you need to lie low for a while. using your powers the way you’ve been using them… people are starting to take notice. ”
“ and why the hell should i be hiding, huh? why should i hide what i can do? it’s time the world knew, perhaps… that there’s gods among them. ”
“ i know about what you can do. i’m not blind, you know. i’m also not an idiot. i’ve known for a long time. ”
“ don’t give me that, okay? great power, great responsibility… it’s a load of bullshit. i never asked for this power, okay? i didn’t want this. i have it, and that’s not my fault. i just wanted a normal life! ”
“ you’ve seen what i can do when i lose control… i can’t let that happen again. “
“ you have powers, too, right? “
“ how long have you had them? how… how have you been able to control your powers so well that nobody knows you have them? “
“ people always expect us to be the heroes, don’t they? i figure it’s wishful thinking. manifestation, right? keep hoping the people who can destroy the world with a snap of their fingers, might just be good enough to want to save it instead… “
“ i heard that you have powers. and… i was hoping, maybe you could teach me how to use mine? “
“ together, if we combine what we can do… we would be unstoppable. “
“ people say they’d give anything to do what we can do. until they can do it, that is. then, they’d give even more to not be able to do it anymore. “
“ what do you mean? what’s wrong with your powers? “
“ i love you. not your powers, not your fame. you. “
“ we… we shouldn’t be together. not after tonight. those men wanted you dead because you know me; we were lucky that i was there to stop them. but… loving me, being with me… it puts a target on your back. and i won’t always be around to protect you. “
“ i don’t know how i’m able to do these things, so how the hell do you expect me to know how to control them?! “
“ don’t start what you can’t finish, kid. i’ve had my powers a lot longer than you have. it would be a very quick fight. “
“ i… i hurt those people? oh my… i could’ve destroyed the whole city if you hadn’t stopped me! “
“ how do i know that i’m in love with you for real? how do i know you’re not using your magic powers to make me think that i love you? “
“ don’t say that. you can’t know that, okay?! how do you know i’m not casting a magic spell on you to make you pretend that you love me? “
“ that’s not all i can do… would you like me to show you more? “
𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐬 𝐩𝐭. 𝟏
i’ve made emotional ones before but also, angst?? bon appetit!
“ i can’t do this alone… “
“ i can’t do this without you. “
“ nothing is worth losing you. “
“ i can’t lose you! not again! “
“ i don’t wanna lose you! “
“ i love you… “
“ i never should’ve dragged you into this. “
“ you’re not alone, [NAME]… you never were. “
“ if something happened to you… that would be because of me. and i can’t have that. “
“ …did you know about this? “ “ this is all my fault… “
“ i/we/you lost… “
“ you won’t win. “ “ this path you’re on… it’s gonna get you killed. you know that, though; don’t you? “
“ i can’t stop. “
“ you would tell me if something was wrong. wouldn’t you? “
“ it’s like you’re not really here; even when you are. “
“ don’t you get it?! if anything happens to you, i… i don’t know what i’d do! “
“ you have no idea how important you are to me, and i’m tired of waiting for you to figure it out, and i sure as hell won’t wait to announce it over your reckless ass’ grave! “
“ no! i’m not leaving without you! “
“ i can’t do this anymore… “
“ you don’t even know me. “
“ what have you done?! “
“ you’re shaking… “
“ i’ve… made some mistakes. “
“ you are nothing to me. “
“ you were never nothing to me… “
“ stop it. enough of this self-sacrificing bullshit! stop acting like you have nobody who loves you! you have me! so no! you don’t get to be a martyr. not today! we can figure out a different plan… “
“ i would’ve done anything for you… “
“ i’d risk everything and anything for you. “
“ i’m not a good person. “
“ please don’t look at me like that… “
“ i believed in you! “
“ we can’t lose… “
“ what?! what am i supposed to do?! please! tell me, what the hell am i supposed to do?! “
“ please, just go… i’m not the kind of person anyone needs to be around right now. “
“ what happened to you? huh? what happened to you to make you this way? “
“ they’re coming for you. right? that’s why you’re pushing me away like an idiot? because you don’t want me getting hurt? “
“ nothing’s going to be as good as it was before. “
“ you lied to me! “
“ i didn’t mean for any of this to happen! “
“ i can’t trust you anymore… “
“ i know it’s selfish. god knows, ever since we met, i’ve been the reason behind every threat and danger that’s come your way. but… i honestly can’t say that i’d change a second of it. “
“ it’s been an honour knowing you. “
“ there’s nobody else i can turn to. only you. “
“ i don’t trust anybody else. not the way i trust you. “
“ we have no choice… “
“ why?! why are you helping me?! “
“ it’s too late. there’s nothing more we can do… “
“ please don’t go… don’t leave me. “
“ you are everything to me. okay? EVERYTHING. i can’t lose you… “
“ you deserve better than this… better than me… “
“ i thought i could give you a better life. instead, i’m the reason it’s gotten worse… i’m so sorry. “

So like my descendants and Degrassi muses have been raring to go recently.
And no one can relate.
Ugh
So just finished Rise of Red.
I honestly don’t know how I feel about it? Like what? I really don’t.
I mean obviously loved the Cameron Boyce tribute and I am glad that they mentioned Chad cause he is canon.
And all the actors did great! But like the storyline made no sense?
Anyhoo. It’s kind of brought my descendants muse out a bit. So anyone want to RP Descendants?
I’m really wanting to do something with my OC Fae and Carlos. Or Fae and Harry Hook?
Open: Gabrielle Cordova
She finds herself hiding more than she used to. Or maybe it was the same amount. Gabrielle didn’t know.
What she did know is her life was turned upside down and no one seemed to care. Except maybe the friendly spirits she had learned to enjoy their company.
She knew she shouldn’t be so selfish. Gabby was alive. She survived, while her best friend may or may not have. And they all just wanted answers. Simon and Nicole. Even Xavier. They just wanted to help, get the closure. But it was proving way harder than they thought.
Gabrielle slammed the door to the locker room, sighing as she slid down the wall. Her head was pounding, and this was the only quiet place she had at the moment. She buried her face in her hands, wrapping her arms around her head for a moment, hearing the footsteps. She just wanted to be alone. Was that too much to ask?
Gabby couldn’t help but chuckle, arms wrapped around her knees where she sat. Maddie was one of her best friends. Maybe only her only. She guessed Simon and the others were too, but her and Maddie shared the same type of family life so they could relate.
“Thanks. But I’m okay. I like the quiet, don’t want to get into any trouble.” She stated with a shrug. She just wanted to stay quiet. “Just going through some stuff right now.” She mused, looking toward the back wall where the windows were.

Gabby looked at Maddie, wide eyed. Like none of it made sense. First Maddie was in front of her. And she was a ghost, so only Simon, and now Gabby could see her. But her body was still alive? She just wasn’t in her body anymore.
“Wha-how-how does this even happen? This is completely confusing!” To be fair, she had seen Simon acting suspicious before in certain spots of the school, but she just thought it was because of the grief. But not she wasn’t sure. Gabby had only come back.
“This is a whole lot. I’m still not sure why….” She was trying to comprehend. She knew Xavier had gotten hurt, but didn’t know the whole story. Her eyes widened. “My accident.”
“I was told that they had to resuscitate me a few times before I was finally stable. I guess I was on deaths doorstep.” Maddie had disappeared a week or two after her accident. It had been sudden, and gabby had been in a coma for at least a month after.
“I can’t believe it’s really you! Well, almost you? God Maddie I’ve missed you!” She let out a weak smile, looking at her best friend.
"I don't know how it happened, everything is still fuzzy about it. I remember it but it's like looking at one of those old projectors when I think of it." Maddie explained. She still didn't quite know how she was able to see Mr. Martin or Janet in the boiler room but that didn't matter.
Hearing Gabby make the realization that it may have been her accident that led her to seeing Maddie allowed it to be Maddie's turn to be shocked. She knew that it was touch and go after the accident but didn't know the extent of it.
After hearing Gabby explain it a bit she guessed that the theory could make sense, not that she really felt it mattered, she was just happy to have a friend. "You know I came to visit whenever I could, I was planning on coming by that day as well." Maddie admitted, looking over at her friend again, not believing that she was having a conversation with a living person again.
"I've missed you too Gabby!" She exclaimed giving a smile back before going in for the best attempt at a hug that a ghost would be able to give. "For everyone's safety though I think that you should keep being able to speak to me a secret, also I have to let you know that there are a few other ghosts around the school, anyone who's died on school property gets trapped here." Maddie told her.
She believed Maddie. Of course she did. Simon had said that they all visited. They had been so thrown off by the accident. At least someone had cared about her, and hadn’t been worried about the money they would get as her parents ‘sued’ who had accidentally almost killed her.
She raised an eyebrow to Maddie when she spoke about being other ghosts. Gabby wasn’t phased by it though. The high school was decades old. There had been so many people here before her.
“Wait? That would explain the additional kids I’ve been seeing.” No one had believed her at the time. She had been seeing other kids that didn’t quite fit in to the school. But when she asked they all looked at her like she was crazy, and chalked it up to her accident.
“There was a couple of kids I noticed, but I thought I was losing it. I saw one in an older looking football letter jacket and one that looked like they came out of a nineties fashion magazine.” She explained, before swallowing. “Those were other ghosts?” This was so much to take in.
|REACTION MEME| Bruised and Broken Version
“Woah, when did you get that?”
“Who did this to you?”
“How many time have I told you to be more careful?”
“You’re saying this was an accident?”
“What a shiner!”
“If you look like this, I’d hate to see the other guy.”
“I’m not buying it, you don’t walk into a door and get a bruise like that!”
“Does it hurt when I touch it?”
“Let me kiss it better.”
“If you don’t rest, you won’t heal.”
“Another fight?”
“What happened to your face?”
“I don’t think your arm is meant to bend like that…”
“Let’s get you to bed.”
“Let’s get you to the hospital.”
“Why are you so calm about this?”
“You’re bleeding!”
“What are friends for, ey?”
“So, instead of helping you, they ran off the moment they saw what was happening?”
“You need to look where you’re going.”
“I’m not accusing anyone, I’m just saying it looks suspicious.”
“Do you want to tell me what really happened?”
“Don’t move! You’ll faint!”
“I’ve got some bandages, wait a sec.”
“You’re the clumsiest person I know.”
“I won’t let you be on your own, not when you’re like this.”
“How could you be so careless?”
“I can’t even look at you, you promised not to get into any more fights!”
“H-how many of them were there?”
( angst starter sentences. )
“Are you going to leave me again?”
“Be quiet!”
“Do you trust me?”
“Don’t pretend that you cared about me.”
“Don’t you love me anymore?”
“Foolish.”
“Forgive me, please.”
“Get out of my face.“
“Go away.”
“How could I believe someone like you?”
“How could you do this to me?”
“How was I supposed to know?”
“Leave me alone already.”
“I can’t let you go, not when you’re like this.”
“I can’t trust you.”
“I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“I haven’t been resting. I can’t sleep."
“I just wanted to help you.”
“I needed you and you weren’t there.”
“I said I was sorry.”
"I thought we were friends."
“I’m a nobody.”
“It’s too late now.”
“It was hard for me to say goodbye.”
“Maybe, I don’t need your help.”
"Please don’t go."
“Please, stop it already.”
“Stop lying.”
“Stop pretending.”
“Stop trying to fix something that can’t be fixed.”
“Wasn’t I worth a goodbye?”
“We need to talk.”
“What more do you want from me?”
“You don’t care anymore, huh?”
“You liar!”
“You’re hurting me.”

She buried her face in her hands, wrapping her arms around her head for a moment, hearing the footsteps. She just wanted to be alone. Was that too much to ask?
Sammi had been at the school for a while now, she had seen a few classes graduate while she stayed ever the same, just trapped in school for eternity. While there she had seen it all, drama, tragedy, extreme joy and with that she always tended to try and comfort those who needed it, even if it didn't really do anything since ghosts couldn't interact with the living.
When Sammi saw the other girl go into the locker room seemingly distraught over something she figured she'd at least go to be curious, if not attempt to make contact, after all not like missing her eighth year of attending Ms. Sumner's math class would make much of a difference. "Hm, rough day huh?" Sammi inquired, not really expecting to get a response. "If it was a breakup, things will get better, take that from the girl who's been here for the last eight years."
She had expected to be alone, to listen to the sounds and words in her mind that made her feel crazy. She wasn’t expecting to hear someone else in there locker room with her. All classes were out for the day and most of the clubs had already ended.
Gabby jumped out of her skin, flinching hard which sent a wave of achy pain up her back. Her eyes opened wide to the girl sitting there on the bench in front of her, speaking as if she couldn’t hear her. There was no one else in here. She didn’t hear the door open and close and she called out before coming in. What just happened?
“Uh….” She stumbled over the words, trying to figure out what to say. “No. Not a breakup. Just a lot going on in the world.” Wait, was this another one of the ghosts? Like Maddie? It had to be.
Sammi watched the girl get startled by her words, that wasn't right, the living shouldn't be able to hear or see the ghosts that haunted the school. "Wait, you heard me? You can see me?" She inquired, her own face looking shaken.
"Well you know if you ever need to talk to someone about the problems in this world, I'm one of the most recent ghosts here at the school. Pretty sure I could understand a lot better than the others, besides maybe Maddie, the new girl." Sammi stated with a shrug. "I'm just glad it's not a breakup cause let me tell you, my seven years stuck at this school as a ghost I've seen far too many breakups where those guys didn't deserve their girl whatsoever."
Sammi realized she was being a bit rude though, intruding on this girl's privacy and she didn't introduce herself either. "I'm Sammi by the way, but if you want to be left alone I can get on out of here." She offered, giving her a kind and caring smile. "Promise it won't hurt my feelings."
Gabby looked at the girl for a moment, before slowly relaxing and leaning back against the wall once more. “Yeah. Apparently I can do that now.” She stated, after startling Charley one day with Maddie and then scaring Wally the next time. She realized then that not only could she see Maddie but the others as well. Which creeped her out even more that so many people had died in the campus.
She chuckled at the girl. “Maddie’s one of my best friends. She disappeared right after my accident, which would make sense since I can see her.” She brushed her hair from her face, revealing one of the nasty scars she had on her head where the hair would never grow back.
“No, you’re fine. It’s just quiet in here. Better than gym at least.” She shrugged. “I’m Gabby. Nice to meet you.”

She let her fingers trace against the long scar of the side of her head. The hair may never grow back, she remembered the doctor saying. Just another issue at hand.
Maddie sat at the bleachers watching the practice. Before she had died she was never one for sports, playing or watching, but after her death she stayed to watch, if not to give her something to do, after all if she was going to be stuck in school then she'd at least try doing something a bit out of her comfort zone, plus it helped her take her mind off of Simon, she had confessed that she had loved him and he had instead told her that her body was still alive and that he thought that she was just a figment of his imagination. Then she found all her lost memories and what truly went down. After rescuing the other ghosts from the fallout shelter she had stayed to herself.
Now though she was glad to see that Gabby was back at school after an accident though she wished she could interact with her friend, but she doubted that she could like she had done with Simon, but it might be worth a shot to at least try to interact with her. "Hey Gabby, don't freak out if you can hear me." She spoke, as she came up the bleachers cautiously.
She felt like she was going crazy. Some people said it was the effects of her accident. That she would always have trouble with focusing or hallucinating, but all of it seemed so real.
She even felt like there were more people at the school. Different people that she wasn’t used to. This school was so small, she knew almost everyone, but these people were different. And when she asked about them, no one knew who she was talking about.
But now Simon was completely shutting down after Nicole, Claire, and Xavier found info on Maddie that she still hadn’t found out yet. She was stuck in this never ending cycle of what’s real and what’s not.
Gabby pressed the heels of her palms into her eyes, inviting the stars for a moment as she tried to concentrate. She missed Maddie, more than anyone. They were best friends, practically sisters, even if they didn’t share the same interests in things. “I’m even hearing her now.” She mumbled, sighing before pulling her hands away from her eyes.
She let them adjust back to the sun, before widening at the figure walking up the bleachers toward her. No, no this couldn’t be real. It had been months, they assumed she was dead. “Maddie?” Gabby questioned, blinking and wondering if it was the brain injury playing with her mind again.
Maddie could tell that the information of her being alive hadn't gone out very far from the fact that she heard nothing about it on campus, but she figured that it was only a matter of time until it came to light one way or another.
Watching Gabby react to her voice made Maddie's face light up, Gabby was someone that she absolutely trusted and the fact that she could hear her at least made things even better, that meant that Simon could be convinced that she was real and not a figment of his grief. It also meant that Maddie had more friends that she could confer things with. "No-No don't think I'm just some figment of your imagination too." She spoke faintly hearing the other's words.
"Gabby, it's me, sort of. It's hard to explain but I'll try to do it." She started as she finally reached her friend. "It's me but I'm a ghost. I'm bound to the school with a handful of other ghosts here, but my body isn't necessarily dead, it got possessed by another spirit forcing me out." She told her frantically trying to get the story out before the other thought that she was just a hallucination or something else.
"If you don't believe me ask Simon, tell him that you know that he was talking to me, and that I wasn't just him trying to process his grief over losing me and tell him that the video of me is the ghost in my body. All that is stuff that only he would know if I wasn't real." She continued before looking her friend up and down. "I don't know how you can see me but I'm glad you can, most can't and I never got to say how much of an amazing friend you were before your accident." It was a moment that Maddie wished she were able to hug her friend but despite the ability to talk to one another she was still bound by being a ghost in all other respects.
Gabby was trying to comprehend that Maddie was here. That she was talking to her right this moment, and as the girl came up the bleachers to her, she knew it was true.
But then Maddie began spewing information. About ghosts, and being possessed, and Simon. And none of it made sense. “Whoa whoa. Slow down please.” She begged, looking at her as she sat beside her.
“What are you talking about, ghost and being possessed?” She was confused, trying to comprehend so much. “You’re sitting right in front of me, how can you…” as Gabby tried to touch her friend’s arm, her had phased through. Gabby gasped and slid back on the bleacher a bit. Okay, so she was a ghost.
“Okay, but this doesn’t explain how Simon can see you. Or what’s going on with him and why he’s acting so weird. Also doesn’t explain how I can see you. This is very confusing.” Gabby tried to figure it out. If Maddie was a ghost then how could she see her? It didn’t make sense that Simon could, but it also didn’t make sense that she could either. “I’m just trying to comprehend. I mean you’ve been gone for months. Simon came to the hospital and told me you were gone. He told me you had a huge fight with your mom. I thought it was something from that.” How could any of this make sense?

She wonders what people think of her now that she had returned. Gabby it had been months, and probably no one really cared, but she still wondered.
She had been brushed off when asking about some of the new kids. Nicole just looked at her like she was crazy when she asked about the cute jock boy that didn’t fit in. They chalked it up to her accident.
But now that she realized she could see ghosts, it made a hell of a difference. Especially cause no one believed her when she realized it.
She stared around the cafeteria, arms crossed as she looked around. Nicole and Simon were supposed to join her but now she was sure she had been blown off, like before.
She huffed and rolled her eyes, pushing the tray from her, long forgotten. She was beginning to wonder if she was the lost soul now.
