when you think you have nothing left you still have the moon, sunsets, your favorite music, paper to write on, warm clothes, new starts and your cute self
2019 will be a year of self-love.
remember the softest days. remember the songs humming on the radio while you were with your best friends. remember the compliments about your pretty eyes, the times you laughed while crying and the most loving hugs. remember the dogs that ran up to see you, the color of peopleâs eyes in the sunlight, the way you felt when you watched your favorite film for the first time. remember your best achievements and the way you grew from your saddest evenings. your life is much more beautiful than you perceived when you remember all of the good things.
Your feelings matter.
âOctober is about trees revealing colors theyâve hidden all year. People have an October as well.â

Itâs tempting to turn into them. Itâs tempting to be unfeeling, cold and uncaring. But staying warm, kind and open is your strength. Use this experience to become even more loving.

Silence is something that comes from your heart, not from outside. Silence doesnât mean not talking and not doing things; it means that you are not disturbed inside. If youâre truly silent, then no matter what situation you find yourself in you can enjoy the silence.

Hereâs a reminder that small changes lead to big progress.

My tummy doesnât have to be cute. It holds my internal organs. My thighs donât have to âcrush menâs skullsâ. I use them to carry myself. My stretch marks donât have to be tiger stripes I earned. They came when I grew.
Stop.

I feel like even body positivity is too focused on, like, the appearance of the body. I know I became a whole lot happier with my body when I started thinking of it less in terms of how it looked (to me or anyone else) and realized, that, likeâŠ
When I feel cool breeze on my skin on a really hot day, my body did that for me.
When I step into a bath after a hike, and my muscles ache, but in a good way, and the steam all around me makes me feel like a flower blooming, my body did that for me.
And the hike before it, and standing on a large rock breathing the raw winter air seeing the power of the half-frozen river. That too.
When Iâve had a plate of pasta puttanesca, and I chopped and sauteed the ingredients and now Iâm full-but-not-uncomfortable, and warm all over, and perfectly content, my body did that for me.
My body doesnât have to look awesome to be awesome. Itâs awesome because itâs where I live.
Best comment.
â[My body is] awesome because itâs where I live.â
Words. To. Live. By.
Finally, some real body positivity
