Currently working on: A sad Rabbot fic that is my very first slow burn and is all about grief, pining, refusing to accept things and them raising a baby.

For the ask meme: What made you a fan of Matsuda? I'm kinda new to the Death Note fandom, so I dunno everyone's backstory.

YESSSS i’ve been waiting for this question!! Before watching death note, undertale was my main fandom(i still love it). And in the way i love matsuda, i loved papyrus. Like… so so much. I couldn’t even watch(or sometimes think about) his death scenes without tearing up, yada yada.

fast forward to november of 2025, and light was actually my favorite for a bit, just in more of a regular sense(no shade to light obviously. I still like him). but i really loved matsuda from the start. i had just already verbally established light as my favorite, so i just went with it. But like… over time i just realized that i really really loved matsuda so much more, and i also just kinda understood more about what kind of characters I like.

i did some kind reflection when i kinda embraced matsuda as my favorite and noticed the similarities to him and papyrus😭 they’re both young, naive, hopeful optimists and who technically act as antagonists but dont actually threaten the main character at all. It’s just stuff like that that is just oouuugh i could eat it up.

however, i also think he has objectively the best take on kira(maybe im biased idk). Kira’s methods are messed up, but it’s undeniable that he’s still improving the world, and he can’t hate him for that. I also love that he’s also a comic relief, but still has depth to his character. I’ve touched on this before, but i really hate how the fandom tends to ignore how actually interesting of a character he is and not just the silly cop on the task force. Tl;dr i love matsuda because he’s everything i want in a character. Someone who’s extremely optimistic and hopeful, but still really naive(and highkey lonely. Idk why). I love him if you couldnt tell <3

i really really love his moments in the finale, but generally i love just seeing him in mundane slice of life situations(my irl friends are verrry aware of this. Sorry guys). If you wanted something more specific, i’d say him dogging on ide constantly, as much as i love ide✌️

genuinely my experience with watching death note was so weird. My brother texts me saying he watched death note and we should watch it when he visits from college? Cool!! We watch the first half in one day. Cool. My brother has to leave, i am firm on watching the rest of it with him. Not as cool. Life gets rough not being able to have death note with me constantly. Seeing it when i close my eyes, physically feeling thoughts of it inside my brain, unable to focus on anything else, experiencing auditory hallucinations, watching it whenever i can…not as cool. Genuinely it didn't even make me happy, just feel apathetic. If i didnt have it i would feel extremely depressed and unmotivated and honestly just kinda sad. Think that one scene from the captain underpants movie where they’re trudging into school. My brother finally visits!! Yay!!! We watch another 10 episodes before we have our whole house swap(divorced parents and all fml) spends another 5 days waiting for the other to be like “let’s watch death note!!” And thinking the other doesnt want to. Bad. Very bad. FINALLY i decide to just start watching it again with him! Yay!! BUT my chud dad decides to get tickets for zootopia 2 right as this is happening, so we need to figure out how we want to do this. Long story short i ended up watching episode 36, then zootopia 2, THEN episode 37💔✌️ and THEN i had to go to my best friends house for a sleepover 10 minutes later. I showed up with my eyes all red and puffy with my legs shaking from crying so much🙋‍♀️ 0/10 would not recommend watching it like this
