Yelena had decided earlier in the day she would be spending her time at the park. She needed a break from walking all around the city. She hadn’t even realized how many pairs of shoes she’s gone through until the night before. Besides, she’s been ignoring the park for some days now so why not spend some time giving the plants and trees some love? The constant darkness made it difficult for certain flowers to bloom, so she was more than happy to give them a helping hand. Usually, Yelena spent her days alone. She often saw people coming and going, sometimes she would indulge in a conversation or two, but today she was all alone. Or, so she thought.
She heard of a pair of footsteps, her attention being pulled away from the rose in her hand. Before addressing the mysterious person, she tried to figure out if she recognized the footsteps but then realized it was a bit difficult as they were on grass.
Finally, she decided to address the stranger. “Hello.” The woman was somewhat familiar but Yelena wasn’t sure if they’ve ever formally introduced themselves. Shortly after greeting her, she noticed the plant the stranger was holding between her hands.
“Is.. everything okay?” She asked, furrowing her eyebrows slightly.
Ava may have seen the woman once or twice in passing, but the introductions had never been made. Too busy with other things, she supposed. Her question roused Ava from her wonder regarding the growth of plants around them, only to realize she hadn’t properly formed the words in her head before she got here.
“Uh... I was curious about...” Eyes averted to the sad little plant in her hands. “How... Did you do all this?” She gestured to the immediate area, trying to sound like she actually knew how to hold a conversation. “I’m not having the best of luck with St-... my plant and wondered if you had any tips.”
