About OC
Emilia is a journalism student and Avenger / Thunderbolt in her early 20s. She was raised in hydra. Her biological mother was working for hydra and volunteered her as an infant for human experiments and experimented on her herself. Emilia was basically raised in her mother’s lab. She doesn’t know a lot about herself or her family pre hydra, including her brother’s existence (up until a few months ago) and if she’s a mutant or mutate. They use the terms interchangeably.
Emilia was rescued by the avengers when she was 16, she's been living and working with them ever since.
She's outgoing, witty, sweet, extremely caring and loyal but also strong headed and will fight for herself. She'd like to think she has everything under control but she doesn't.
She actively avoids killing/ taking prisoners, even when she knows it will ultimately be beneficial. She always sees the good in people. She can also be wildly independent at times.
Her powers are enhanced strength and reflexes and projectile/ trajectory manipulation (the ability to alter the course of moving objects) and her weapon of choice is knives. The knives she was given in hydra as a child were experimented on so she can still move those while they’re not moving. Her eyes glow a soft, subtle purple when her fight or flight is triggered or when she’s feeling any overwhelming emotion. She's also plus size and also has a cat called Peanutwho was also an ex hydra experiment. She found him on an undercover mission at the facility she was raised in and begged Tony to let her bring him back to the tower.
Timeline
From ages 5-12 she was simply an experiment. She had her powers and had basic combat skills. She still doesn’t know if she was born with her powers or given them through her mother’s experiments. Loyal to hydra because her mother is. Just a confused child.
From ages 12-16 she was an asset and training. At 12 she was given her first dose of a sort of ‘watered down’ version of the super soldier serum and started to train more in combat. Her routine became less about experiments and lab tests and more about training her for when she turned 18 to be a soldier. Her experiments were more spread out time wise but more intense on her body and mind. In this time, Emilia’s mother is severely injured. She is told that the avengers are the reason her mother is hurt (which is a lie) but they’re setting Emilia up to be anti-avenger to make it easier for her to fight them, no questions asked. It’s also this time that she was made to forget her older brother. They thought she would be easier to control if she had no family connections and the only connections she had was with handlers.
At 16 Emilia was found and rescued. She was half dead on her mother’s medical bed after an experiment gone wrong. Coincidentally, that’s also when the building was breached and she was left behind when hydra personnel evacuated (because carrying an already basically dead person would’ve slowed them down). When she was found, she was in shield custody for a few weeks as a prisoner before they realised she was just a scared kid with no family in the outside world. She starts living in the tower.
From ages 16-18 she was simply getting used to life outside of hydra. Learning not to be scared of everything. Training, learning about the team, building her own family. During this time, Bucky officially adopts her.
From ages 18 to current she is fighting with the team and studying to be a journalist. She mostly went to college to be able to have time as a normal teenager as she balances hero work too. She still lives in the tower.
