I won’t be writing anything new on Daredevil for now or the foreseeable future, but I feel like it may be a good time to get this fic I wrote circulating around again.

I might have completely ignored my wip pile to write about Apollo and Nahyuta discussing the effects of dictatorship on people
Absolutely not related to anything
I just had an idea on how the AA games could introduce a Narumitsu are married thing.
Since we already had Turnabout Time Traveller, Phoenix would get involved into an investigation involving a marriage, and as you interview people you realize it’s all people Phoenix knows, and then someone asks “who’s getting married, anyway?” And Edgeworth answers, extremely pissed that he had to do work on the day of his own wedding.
And the dialogue has clever jabs at his love life and everything and random jokes and hints, to the dismay of whoever is with Nick.
Ideally Phoenix would have a random new companion that happened to show up, or someone like Ahibi (heck even Kay Faraday, if for some reason she hadn’t been into contact with Edgeworth much recently)
And only after the case is solved, you get a picture where there’s Edgeworth in a white suit and someone standing next to him in partial shadows.
It’d be so funny and absurd, because I’m sure Phoenix wouldn’t comment at all about working on such a day, or do so in a way that confuses his companion.
Bonus if it’s the same reception venue with the two pegabulls
And then by the next game everything continues on as normal, Phoenix is at the Agency, except that it’s said Athena moved in instead of having an apartment, Edgeworth is in his office but comments about his house, you can see something on Phoenix’s sprite but it’s covered by his other fingers, and no one says anything at all because they exhausted all the jokes at the ceremony some months ago.
[Miles being chief prosecutor means we don’t really see him in court and can’t see his hands]

To me he’s still there but comes and goes and Athena is trying to take up as much space as possible so he’s forced to go live with your husband, you have been waiting for each other way too long, goddamnit
Bonus bonus if Nick’s companion during the investigation is Mike Meekins because that guy sure is in the strangest situations.
Trucy mentions her dad has studied abroad and she wants to follow his footsteps.
Which can be very well about Zac studying magic, but the room has a law textbook near her props, which could be anyone’s, but Edgeworth studied abroad, and Klavier is a musician on the side, after all…

what the whole "please comment on fic you like, it will encourage more writing" vs. "fic writers shouldn't be writing for engagement and validation" debate fails to really grasp, for me, is that comments shouldn't be boiled down to "engagement and validation" in the first place. by which i mean: comments aren't payment for a service, they are communication and connection. they represent the audience reaching back.
i don't write just for myself. are you kidding me? the point of storytelling, to me, is to present certain narrative arguments and produce or encourage an emotional response to them. That communication is essentially useless if there's no endpoint, no listener. To me, there is no point if I'm not communicating with someone. When I write, I am talking to a reader. If you've read anything I've written, then I was talking TO YOU.
you are well within your right to consume fic as ~content~ and withhold your "payment" out of a sense that the writer should be satisfied at having created anything at all in an unresponsive void. but please be aware that it feels really good when you talk back.
