Thursday, June 16
Thursday Play - Hongdae, Seoul
Every Thursday, hip-hop club In2Deep in Hongdae is hosting Thursday Play, a night of good hip-hop, R&B, funk and soul, and the opportunity to chill and hang out with some of the pioneers of Korean hip-hop - rapper 1sun, DJ Raw and dancer LateNite. This isn’t your usual party-hard night out, but is more for conversation and enjoying the music. Doors open at 10 p.m. and there is no cover charge. But bring your ID as minors (those under 19) are not allowed. Check out the Facebook page for more information.
Young Guru at Cakeshop - Itaewon, Seoul
Famed producer and sound engineer Young Guru will be making an appearance at Cakeshop in Itaewon, for a very special DJ set. Known as the “Sound of New York,” Young Guru has over a decade of experience in sound engineering, production and A&R for Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Records and has shaped some of the biggest names in hip-hop. He has toured with Jay-Z and Kanye West as well. Also appearing at Cakeshop on Thursday are DJ Soulscape, DJ Jeyon and Funk I.D. Giriboy Album Release Tour - Jeju Island
Just Music’s Giriboy is launching his album release tour across South Korea and his first stop in none other than Jeju Island. The show will be at Jeju Belong (벨롱) and is open to everyone age 12 and older. Show starts at 6 p.m. and tickets are 40,000 won on Yes24 or 50,000 won at the door.
“I Love R&B” - Hongdae, Seoul
Every Friday night, hip-hop club In2Deep in Hongdae is hosting a special night of R&B. DJs will spin everything from 80s and 90s, to neo-seoul and more. It will also be Ladies Night, with no entry for women and special drink offers such as 4,000 won one-mix cocktails and three shots of tequila for 10,000 won. Doors open at 10 p.m. and make sure to have ID. Check out the Facebook page for more information.

Music Curation Concert Vol. 4 MC Meta - Chang-dong, Seoul
Hip-hop duo Garion has accomplished a lot in the hip-hop scene, and MC Meta has become a representative of Korean hip-hop in his 20-year career. He has given colorful performances and appeared as a mentor and judge on SMTM. The next will be at new performance venue Platform 61 Changdong in Chang-dong, Seoul, which will showcase MC Meta in a new and unique way. It will also feature younger artists Nucksal and Jindotgae. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are 20,000 won available on Naver Booking. Platform 61 is located near Changdong Station.
Sound Trevel Vol. 4: Busan x Fukuoka - Busan
This is the 4th edition of the Sound Trevel show presented by hip-hop club Revel. This show will celebrate the coming together of two cities - Busan and Fukuoka in Japan. Four teams will perform, filling the stage with a variety of styles and music. On the lineup are Colteco from Japan, Hoppers, Alive Music and Swallowtail Butterfly. The show starts at 9 p.m. and entrance is 15,000 won, which includes free entry to the after party. To reserve a ticket in advance, message “REVEL051” on KakaoTalk.
Shining Ground - Hongdae, Seoul
Coming up at hip-hop club In2Deep this weekend is another installment of live underground hip-hop show, Shining Ground. The latest lineup is not currently out at the time of posting, but check out the Facebook page for more updates on who will take the stage. Doors open at 10:30 p.m. and the show starts at 11 p.m. Entry is 10,000 won. Bring ID as no minors (under 19) are allowed.

1st Buckwilds Show “Rocksteady” - Hongdae, Seoul
Hitting up DGDB this Sunday is the first Buckwilds show, Rocksteady. The show will feature performances by crew members Kkalchang, J.Tong, FANA, Ignito, Geeks, Kirin, Hwalo, Chaekani, Hanhae, Buba, Kkanmo, Im Seung-joon, Psychoban and Ohsung. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are 25,000 won at HanaTour and 30,000 won at the door.
