Dottore headcanons // Genshin Impact
Greetings. Month of war raging in my country. Still alive. Still breathing. Still hating.
Brilliant idea, because I seem to have caught Dottore fever. I came across this song in my playlist:

It hurts so much that I've come up with headcanons for youth of one very intriguing doctor.
Dottore, a brilliant young student in Sumeru Academy. Crepus studied there too, only in different specialties than Dottore (my hc name for Dottore is Endeavo(u)r)
They crossed paths and fell madly in love, like MADLY. They felt GOOD together, both of them. Dottore wasn't a psycho, he was just a good, adequate member of society, albeit with non-standard views. He smiled, laughed, loved the life he was living and planned the future.
But he was more inconspicuous than the rich boy Crepus, who in his youth was by no means ashamed of his position in society and was indulged in attention. And since there was this difference in loyalty and conscience between them, one day they had a split when the first love faded. But if Crepus easily lived through this and didn't bothered himself, poor Dottore simply went crazy with grief.
Let's imagine that he either had no one to console him, or he completely hid his relationship with another man from his family/relatives.
This situation was the beginning of the end. He buried himself in his studies, but his anger grew more and more. There was no one to lift him in their arms and support him. So he developed his genius at the cost of his heart and did everything to take revenge on Crepus.
His "motto" was the words of that song: "I want you to be hurt as much as me."
This song captures Crepus' betrayal and Dottore's emotions about it so wonderfully.

I imagine him saying these words as he stands in front of Crepus' grave, looking down at his tombstone with blank stare. He wanted his revenge. But he doesn't feel like he got it (even though lore and manga may say otherwise). He feels like he missed his chance, and now his rival is gone. All Dottore can do now is stare at chiseled name of his lover and rethink of all what has let to this moment of half-hatred half-confession.
As a result of this break-up Dottore hated this world so much that he was deemed worthy and was invited to join the ranks of the Harbingers. He may not care about the goals of the Cryo Archon, but he has the opportunity to develop his scientific potential. And the day will come when he will remember both his teachers, who scoffed at his ideas in the field of engineering, and the exam directors that refused to help him when he failed the once-perfect scores because of his grief.
And he may not hate Diluc as an individual, but he does hate Crepus' facial features that his son inherited.
The feud between Dottore and Diluc is a separate topic for a post, but I think that their confrontation has become intriguing for both of them. Sports interest, if you will.
I put into Dottore's mouth these words, adressed to the Ragnvindr dynasty:
"Damn your fire-haired bloodline for all the chaos you've brought into my life."
He says these words with a sigh of tiredness, an intonation of hatred and a note of lust, when once again the fiery locks of young Ragnvindr flick before his eyes.
