Question for No Sphere Grid Folks

I've played FFX a lot and really have a craving to go back to it, but I've already beat Penance and whatnot so I figure the next natural step is a No Sphere Grid run. I'm not a challenge run kinda gal usually (and in fact there's a chance I'll get bored and ditch the attempt at some point haha) but if I do this I mostly wanna figure stuff out without looking at a guide. So my question is: Is there anything I can miss that will more or less softlock that run? Like an item I need to stock up on early game or anything for mixes or equipment. I'm down to experiment and retry a battle plenty of times but not a big chunk of the game (especially since I'm streaming for a friend). I'm not planning to do superbosses but I would like all the optional aeons and such. Playing on remaster also.

Okay guys. So you wanted to go to bed by 11:50 since you have to wake up at 5:50. 8 hours of sleep is ideal but 6 isn't THAT bad. But you know, 11:50 is basically 12:00. But oops, you've stayed up until 12:15. Now 12:15 is basically 12:30, that's only like a 15 minute difference. Ah but you check the clock at 12:32. That's such an odd number. Guess you have no choice but to stay up until 1:00. And... and y'know, 1:00 is pretty close to 1:15.

Finally!!! I finished them!!!!!!

This was definitely a practice in learning to accept tiny mistakes! Gotta just accept things once the glue is down and work with em, haha.
