declan o'connell ~ intro & starter
freya mikaelson ~
THOUGH BOTH HIS niece and nephew were grown kieran , much like his bleeding heart had felt for many others , felt a weight of responsibility on his shoulders to care for each of them , regardless of how much or little they may have needed him. declan's father was still in dublin and camille had tragically lost sean , leaving kieran to pick up whatever pieces needed mending. if he hadn't been sent to mystic falls with a purpose perhaps the young o'connells would've faired much worse , or maybe he was being paranoid and overly protective. ' nothing for me , thank you. ' he informs the bartender before returning his attention to his nephew , his profile spotted through the grill's large glass display windows from the sidewalk. ' i think it might be time to cut you off. ' he suggests , despite how declan may protest.
Declan turned to see his uncle sitting there. It was hard to be surprised, had his father send his uncle all this way? It was hard to know. For two men that were... completely different in everyday, they both liked to get involved in Declan's life. "Did he sent you?" Declan asked as he picked up his drink and took a sip. "Plus, you are welcome to call him back and chat about all his fresh new sins if you wanted," Declan said, pushing the phone towards his uncle. "What are you doing here?" He asked honestly after a moment, relaxing slightly.
“Apparently my choices have been a bit controversial lately.” She mused, talking absently to whoever was around her. She knew she didn't always make the best choices but it felt like it was all blowing up in her face lately. "Sorry love, feel free to ignore my ramblings." @starstrikin
"All rambling can be important as well as choices, people just have to be willing to listen," Anna said as she looked at the original. She was surprised to see her in town and she wondered if Kol was here as well. Though she wasn't surprised that after this long, Rebekah didn't recall her.
❝ ⸻ It's just a mocktail ❞ Elena at least tried to give out a small lie as she held the drink close to her . The last thing she needed was her aunt telling her about underage drinking . ❝ besides , pretty sure this isnt the end of the world situation to catch your niece doing .❞
"I'm sure," Jenna said, though she knew it was very much a lie that Elena was trying to pass by her. "No, but it's a little disappointing that I caught you," Jenna told her with a chuckle, after all the least her niece and nephew could do was try and hide things from her. "Home by 10."
Declan looked down at his phone as his father called him for the 4th time in two days, likely to complain about something that his mother, or much more scarily his high school friend/father's mistress had done. Delcan almost wishing he had the much more fake and upright version of his father that everyone else in the world got. "Have a drink with me," he said, turning to the person at the bar next to him, as the phone rang out, waving down the bartender. "Whatever their havin'."
Hayley had heard the condolences from a few people but didn't want to overstep. Visiting a small town, it was impossible not to know major details going on. "I'm sorry for your loss. Word spreads fast, I guess. Not a good reason to have to come home."
Jenna nodded, thanking her. She was quickly reminded why she had told Jeremy and Elena to come away with her. To keep this from being their everyday for a while. "No, not really," she admitted. "Though maybe France had had enough of me." She paused as she reached for her drink, downing it. "At least when it comes to a small town, you know you are never really alone." And she was going to need all the help she could get.

Albeit the ingredients have improved compared to 1000+ years ago . ❝ complimentary . It's a trail run . If people love it , I'll be putting it in the menu . ❞
"I could be convinced, I do love a good old recipe," he said, dropping into the chair he had planned to use to start his college work, or at least the work he should be doing. "There is some great stuff out there."

Coming back from FRANCE to a town like MYSTIC FALLS was a complete change of pace . She did miss home , but she also wished she could have stayed a little longer in france . Although , as a born and raised local she could definitely tell new faces were around here and there . Grabbing the alcoholic drink and her fake ID , elena turned and almost spilled her drink of them . ❝ ⸻ Oh , I'm so sorry . I was completely got distracted ... ❞ She looked them over after putting the ID in her skirt pocket . she was dressed all in black and was determined to have a good time tonight .
"Same," he said as the other flow around to face him. Though he had to assume she meant distracted in a completely different way to a smoking hot girl running right into him. "Declan," he said, holding out his hand.

"ugh, it's too hot," caroline whines, as she leaves the mystic grill. she's sighing, and then flips her hair over her head, and then grabs it to make a ponytail. as she's fixing the hair tie around her hair, she's focusing on someone standing near her. "aren't you burning up?" she asks the person, trying to make conversation.
"Well I like the view if that's what you are asking," Declan said playfully, waiting for the other to flick her head up. "Though if I was... burnin' up. Where would you suggest I go?" He asked, his thick Irish accent showing through.

❝ ⸻ We aren't exactly open . We will be in 30 minutes so feel free to sit and decide on what you want . ❞ Vanessa called out to whoever came into the grill . She rarely worked there despite owning it , but she did so whenever the were understaffed and considering her manager was found DEAD . she was taking over for the time being .
"I can come back," he offered, he prefered the food he made most days, but there was only so much one could do with a hot plan in your dorm room. "Though the college said you guys might be looking for some help. Spent a few summers in some of the best kitchens in New Orleans and Ireland. Though I can tend a bar just as well as anyone."
[ FREDDIE THORP / CIS MALE / HE/HIM ] Well, look who it is; DECLAN O'CONNELL, running around Mystic Falls as a NEWCOMER. Looking at them, you wouldn’t think they were 22 / 22 and a HUMAN. But then again, you never know who or what is lurking in the darkness. That being said, at least they’re PASSIONATE, even if they are a bit MANIPULATIVE, so that’s something, right?

even as a child , she had preferred night to day , had enjoyed sitting out in the yard after sunset , under the star-speckled sky listening to crickets and winds the night brought . Darkness soothed . It softened the sharp edges of the world . With the coming of twilight , the sky seemed to recede ; the universe expanded . The night was bigger than the day , and in its realm , life seemed to have more possibilities .
davina sat on the blanket she had spread out . She had been star gazing and drinking the bottle of wine she had as well as using her tarots . to the untrained eyes , it simply looked like a game of cards . Yet those who have dealt with witches knew better .
"Hoping to see the future," Anna asked, playfully, looking down at the cards. Not that she trusted cards to tell her future but we knew the general idea for those that wanted to see.
"Talk about a small town." Hayley mused, mostly to herself as she was walking around the town square. It wasn't much but at least it was someplace new. "Is it always this quiet around here?" She asked aloud, mostly to herself, not realizing someone was nearby. The air felt eerily quiet, small towns weren't something she was used to.
"Yes," Anna said, looking up from her park bench to look up at the other. "Were you hoping for something else?"

location: mystic falls, your pick of specifics
Mystic Falls. A place she once called 'home' for a short amount of time, amidst her flees, and here she was once more. But this time, she was prepared. This time, she had done some recon into a particular walking reflection around town, and mimicked her very being as she wondered the streets, claiming to be one Elena Gilbert. Her doe-eyed, sweet-as-pie, Doppelganger. "Home sweet home." The vampire muttered under her breathe, a smirk immediately taking residence across her lips as she glanced into the town lines.
"Is that so," Anna commented, looking over the doppelganger curiously. Whether it was Katherine playing games or the famous Elena Gilbert, Anna was curious.

[ MALESE JOW / CIS FEMALE / SHE/HER ] Well, look who it is; ANNA ZHU, running around Mystic Falls as a NEWCOMER. Looking at them, you wouldn’t think they were 20 / 600+ and a VAMPIRE. But then again, you never know who or what is lurking in the darkness. That being said, at least they’re LOYAL, even if they are a bit CALCULATING, so that’s something, right?
"Yes, no, thank you," Jenna said when another person gave her a condolence at the bar. She forced a smile and a polite response before turning back to the bar. "I'm going to need another drink," she said lightly before looking to the person next to her. "Here's to being home."
