❤🧡💛💚💙💜 THANK YOU!!!
guys lets start some discourse rb with your most CONTROVERSIAL star trek takes, ill go first! The one with the whales is bad and not in a so bad its good way, it's just plain bad. also i like the character of Lwaxana Troi but the episodes she's in are someone the most mediocre if not worst in the series. okay your turn 😁
tos food cubes are actually disgusting :/ i’m sorry
Star Trek: Prodigy Episode: I don’t know Prodigy isn’t available in my country Rating: 8/10 I feel like the rating could have been a lot lower if I went with my second instinct, which was wet cat or dog food BUT my first instinct was yay! Space goulash! So we’re rolling with that. It looks well seasoned and hoenstly very appetizing. I love the steam and appreciate the serving size as well. Not sure what Pog (?) is eating there but I am not digging that -- it’s giving rotten ice cream.
Thank you to @chitratxt for submitting the images! <3
also don't be a coward do saru
maybe as a christmas treat...........
Star Trek: Discovery 1x05 “Choose Your Pain” Food: Green Beans; Oat Meal Rating: 7/10 for Michael’s food which includes green beans and then perhaps some pasta or potato. 5/10 for Tilly’s. I am not an oat meal for lunch person, but if that’s your thing, sure. Unsettled by the milk. Overall, though, the food here is quite reminiscent of Enterprise, and I enjoy the implication that food cubes probably weren’t a thing just yet on the Discovery. Also the glasses they’re using a really pretty.
Star Trek: Enterprise 4x12 “Babel One” Food: Andorian Ale, Leftovers (perhaps Quiche) Rating: 10/10 nothing I want more than to get my hands on some alien liquor. Andorian ale? Saurian brandy? Klingon blood wine? Kanar? Bajoran spring wine? I want it all! The blue color here makes you think it might not be liqour that’s that strong but Archer’s and Shran’s demeanour tells otherwise. I can drink whiskey with a straight face so I really want to get my hands on the drink that makes two hardened guys in their 50s™ cringe. The bottle reminds me of Kanar, but not as cool obviously because it’s lacking the scales. For the quiche: it’s looking good! It’s funny that Archer just ditched the Tellarite ambassadors to have a dinner date with Shran. Both haven’t finished their foods but seem to be done eating so that tells you that probably neither human nor alien came from a household of scarcity, where you had to eat your plate clean.
Star Trek: Enterprise 4x12 “Babel One” Food: Authentic Tellarite Dishes Rating: 7/10 I am a little bit disappointed that all of these are clearly Terran vegetables like squashes, turnips and dragon fruit... that being said, I love that Tellarites might be vegans? They are clearly based on pigs and as someone who has owned pigs before, I can tell you they eat everything. So I’m glad to know Tellaraties are more picky, and are also interested in trying human cuisine.
Their general prefrence for arguing and being perhaps vegans really makes them similiar to Vulcans imo. Can’t believe they’re not better allies at this point but maybe it is because they’re so similiar... you do need a little difference and perhaps that’s why we humans are slapped in the middle.
This looks like some shit they’d eat in TOS
Request by @gar-trek
Star Trek: Gar-Trek Food: Ground Meat, Red Cabbage, and Various Vegetables Rating: 4/10 to start with it does look edible and I am a big fan of cabbage, especially in winter time! I also appreciate that there seem to be some more vegetables mixed into it. However, over all there is just too much meat. Some carbs like rice or potatoes on the side and maybe some lettuce would spice it up and make it more diverse. It also looks like there might be some (sour?) cream involved, which I would prefer served on the side.
Star Trek: Lower Decks 1x06 “Terminal Provocations” Food: At least 3 Cantaloupes worth of puree Rating: 1/10 running this blog I have realized that Star Trek utilizes a lot of melons and squashes as their food... I only like water melon out of the melons and when it comes to squash just zucchini. Nevertheless, the energy is off the charts here. 1 point out of respect for Fletcher! This is way more impressive and cool than anyone with a beer and a funnel could ever be. I think this also really speaks for Fletcher as a person because he can walk away from this and be still known by his name and not as the “cantaloupe boy” or “puree man.” Request by: @protectspock
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 4x23 “To The Death” Food: ? Rating: 3/10 I honestly have no idea what Julian is eating here. Maybe it’s cheese and leaves? Alien food? I thought for a bit it could be lasagna or canneloni but zooming in on the first picture puts an end to that. Maybe it is something English? No offense, but the Brits do have some unsexy looking food. Overall though, I think I would give this food a shot. Pervious posts have shown that Julian likes his food bland so maybe it’d need some salt.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 4x23 “To The Death” Food: Unkown, possibly Gnocchi Rating: 6/10 looks unassuming and edible. I think it is gnocchi, which I love but probably in universe some alien Vorta food. Looks like it could do with some sauce but maybe the seasoning or the food’s own taste is already strong. It definitely was tasty enough for Weyoun 4 to be utterly annoyed that the Jem’Hadar demanded their ketracel white while he was having dinner.
@weyounbathwater this is only one step better than my partner constantly demanding i make a post about saru 😔

Star Trek: Lower Decks 2x09 “wej Duj” Food: Steel Cut Oats HOT Rating: 8/10 first of all, I love love love that twitter user thecaptstable instantly went and recreated this within an hour! Now to the food itself, honestly it sounds so much better than it actually looks on Boimler’s plate. Would definitely eat it as long as it is dairy free. Maybe not as a daily meal but once in a while as a treat :) The dash of salt mmm. Link to the tweet.
The other meals are under the cut:
Star Trek: Enterprise 2x09 “Singularity” Food: Oden Rating: 9/10 this looks so good I can’t believe Hoshi managed to cook this for the whole crew from scratch that’s so impressive and wholesome. Also love that she served it with rice and edamame. This is not a 10/10 because for me personally fish is touch and go, some is great, sometimes it’s just too much. However, I do trust Hoshi. Also lovely that the recipe seems to be handwritten with some English annotations to the Japanese such as “2 Tbsp”
Star Trek: Enterprise 2x04 “Dead Stop” Food: Pan Fried Catfish Rating: 10/10 food on Enterprise often doesn’t excite me as much, or I don’t share it on here because usually it is just salads and maybe a dry steak but this fish… looks so good! Would love to have that for lunch right about now. Trip has had some questionable meal choices in the past but this one simply slaps.
I remember reading about how Dom Keating (Malcolm Reed) never did spit takes during scenes, not because he was a great actor, but because he LOVED the food the chef would make for them!!! So he would annoy the fuck out of the director for eating the god damn food because they’d have to get her to re-make the meals for scene accuracy! It happened so often that they would have to plan ahead and make sure Dom had a plate of the chef’s food prior to filming!!! What a guy. Also I wish I could remember who the chef was but I know that she was described as a wholesome angel, and man, could she COOK
Doug Drexler, his wife Dorothy, was a food stylist on the show and basically behind most of the food that Dom (and even though he was the one who had the most trouble doing lines eating) and some of the other cast members loved eating! For awhile on his blog, he would post stories about the food and behind the scenes stories (many hilarious), along with posting some of her recipes. His blog is down now (when it was up, it was really a treat!) but the wayback machine makes it easy to try some of the food!

I’m pretty sure there was a pan fried catfish recipe blog post back in the day but currently can’t find it. However, you can now eat some of the same things the ENT crew did with these recipes!
