About!!

Hello everyone!  I’m Star, and I write fics and stuff!  This blog basically exists to give everyone better updates than I could on AO3, and allow better communication between my readers and me.  I might also take prompt requests on here.  I’ll also be cross-posting some of my works over here, so there’s that!

So instead, you can decide for yourself whether or not you want to be here, and what you want to bring here.  I don’t tolerate any kind of discrimination.  I have a few squicks I’ll probably just ignore if they get brought up; definitely have become more of a ship and let ship kinda person over time.  I don’t write/discuss much in the way of Dark Fic, but you do you.  I am kin-friendly, I will listen to you talk about your kins, and I don’t have a problem with doubles, but don’t ask for my kin list; I don’t want to drop it because that causes too much drama.  I am also F/O friendly.  I don’t dislike many fandoms, but I’d prefer not to discuss AOT or Hetalia.  I don’t hesitate with the block button, so seriously, think before you interact.

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about what you can do here!

You can submit prompts, request (if I’m taking requests), ask me about my fics (if they are still updating, how the next chapter is coming along, if I’ll write for a certain fandom ever, ect.), discuss my fics with me, or drop suggestions or ideas for ongoing fics (I really wanna hear em!).  I want this to be a place where I can interact with my readers on a more direct level than my writing sites allow.

Hey all! This is a life update for everyone just because I felt like one is required. I'm going to start with the fact that this will (hopefully) have minimal impact on my progress with my projects this year, considering that I can still write and have one-shots queued up for my "a one-shot a month" goal for this year.

SO. What happened? So basically, yesterday a man stuck my car trying to run a red light. He hit me right on my front tire/driver's side door, and all my airbags went off. SOMEHOW I didn't break any bones but I'm sore all over and lethargic, and because of other symptoms being displayed (and the fact that my left airbag hit me in the head so hard my ear is still ringing and not working correctly) I have a follow-up to my hospital visit lined up to check for a concussion (the amount of typos I had to correct just now also isn't inspiring confidence).

I've also had other, more personal shit going on, so I already was a bit behind on my hundred words a day project. Long story short, my girlfriend is moving states, and another mutual friend is moving houses, and they've both needed a lot of help, not to mention that I hadn't been taking the news of my gf leaving too well. I made up for the words I had to write over the weekend yesterday night since I was struggling to sleep, so I'm currently caught up, but who knows how I'll be able to keep up in the coming days. I'm in a lot of pain.

Smaller update, but Sweet Fang was put back on hiatus. Everything I wrote for it was on the fly, and my god it all reads like it was forced. Sorry, Sweet Fang fans! I still don't wanna give up on it, so as soon as I have some better ideas for it, I will return. For now, I've been using Thursday as a free day, sometimes interchangeably with Wednesday if I need a day for work/myself/helping my friends/ect.

ANYWAY, that's been what's up. There's a lot of slogging through insurance bullshit and figuring out transportation in my future. My car was totaled. Luckily, my parents, especially my mom, have been here for me and are helping me out, and my little brother has been helping me while they've been away. My only other big worry (in terms of writing) is that the problems I've already been having with pain in my arms and hands being exacerbated by getting smacked by the steering wheel airbag. It hasn't been fun.

While we're at it, here's the progress I've been making on the current projects I want finished for next year:

Time and Time Again part 5: 2/? chapters finished

Name of my Own: 6/9 parts finished; Part 4* has 1.5/2 chapters finished; Part 8 has 2/7? parts finished; Part 9 hasn't been started.

Convergence AU: Part 4 (one-shot) is finished; Part 5 has 10/? chapter finished.

Flames in a Hearth: 30/? chapters finished (this one is a MONSTER)

One-shots: I have a lethal league fic (first one from me, yay!) complete for posting literally tomorrow, August's one-shot is finished and it's 13 Cards, I have another 13 Cards one-shot nearing completion that I may post somewhere in there or save for September. Maybe, if I can stay on top of it, I can post these things on the first of every month rather than whenever they happen. I just kinda have been winging it.

*Part 4 of Name of My Own is a late addition that I decided to write because some of the events of Part 8 make more sense if the events between Part 3 and the current part 5 weren't left vague.

It is objectively a win that an indie studio is getting a theatrical release. I'm happy for Glitch, genuinely. I think this is a good thing. BUT. It is a two week early screening, and it's going to be much more difficult to enforce no phone rules than it is at early showings at cons like they did for other episodes. As someone who's done the spoiler-dodging song and dance several times before, here's my advice:

Block the fandom tag.

Seriously. Not the popular spoiler tag. Not even every combination of spoiler tags you can think of. The entire fandom tag. You can unblock it later, and without fail, someone will either forget to spoiler tag, or not want to deal with the inconvenience of spoiler tagging. Other websites may be more difficult to navigate, and I recommend staying away from AO3 tags as well since there's no good way to filter spoilers, but on Tumblr, the best bet is blocking the fandom tag altogether. It sucks, but it's effective.

(Also. If you're in Discord Servers known for having people complain about spoilers while explicitly explaining what got spoiled for them, I recommend muting the servers for those couple of weeks, and letting your friends know they can DM you for non-TADC spoiler related reasons.)

I've been wanting to give you all an update on the progress of writing this year. It's Mar10 day. There's probably no better occasion, considering my AO3 handle is from Super Mario Galaxy 2.

I said this year was dedicated to taking on big projects and getting things done, at the expensive of going on a hiatus. I have also decided to post at least one short fic a month. It's been one-shots so far, but two-shots are not out of the question. :) As always, I will also be participating in Epithetober drabbles.

To really put into perspective what I've been up to behind the scenes, I've had a writing schedule. Monday through Friday, I have to write at least 100 words in designated projects. Example: Mondays are for The Unwish Principle. Weekends are for whatever I want. I've started some one-shots that have yet to be finished in that time, as well as one new long-form project, and chipping away at Operation: E.P.I.T.H.E.T. at times, because I want to do a rewrite of that. On my days off, I also write an addition 100 words in an original work of mine that I hope will become a full book series, but time will tell!

BUT BACK TO FANFICTION. Priorities right now include: Working on Time and Time Again, A Name of My Own, The Convergence AU, Sweet Fang, and a 13 Cards series that has yet to see the light of day. Once some of these projects are finished, I will replace them on the itenerary with projects like a 13 Cards x Pokemon crossover I've also been chipping away at, Operation: E.P.I.T.H.E.T., some JSR stuff since a friend of mine got me WAY into those games, Invincible Fight Girls things, and whatever the heck else I feel like! I am hoping to clear some days completely eventually so I don't experience burn-out, but focusing on mainly one project per day has done wonders to stave it off.

I want to go into a brief aside about Heroes (And How Not to Assign Them). Idk how many of my Tumblr follows have read that one, since most of you seem to be COTC/ANW/13 Cards fans, but I know Heroes had a pretty strong following when it was updating, and the hiatus was unexpected and far long than I ever wanted it to be. It was originally on my schedule, but my outline was so loose, and it had been so long since last writing, that it became clear to me that I would have to reread everything I had previously written to properly write the last few chapters. I'm hoping sometime later in the year, to take a month to give that fic extra TLC, because I don't want to carelessly write an ending that is lazy and forced to a fic that is near and dear to my and my readers' hearts.

For anyone still waiting patiently for The Unwish Principle to update: thank you. That fic should have been finished last year. Luckily, I have hope it will be finished within the next month or two. I have been working on chapter 13 since October (legitimately), and have affectionately dubbed it "the chapter from hell" because of how difficult it was to write, in tandem to how much longer it turned out than I thought it would be (4,000 words and I had to fight every single one of em). Yesterday, I finally finished the dumb thing. And then I finished chapter 14. And I was at work when I did. My hyperfixation on ANW has faded but my passion for my works in the fandom did not, and making proper headway again felt SO REFRESHING and FUN. Two more chapters, and it will be done, and I doubt I will write myself into a corner again in that time frame, lol! All four remaining chapters will be released the very Sunday that they are done. Optimistic, but I'm REALLY hoping that could be this Sunday.

Welp. This update is entirely too long, lmao. If you are still reading this, thank you! If there's a particular project you're wondering about that I didn't mention, feel free to send me an ask about it. I am going to go ahead and say now that I have no particular interest in writing more COTC fics at this time, since I know I'll get asked about that if I don't say anything. I'm not totally disinterested in it, I just haven't watched it at all recently and with such a large cast, I will not be able to characterize properly until that vibe hits me again. It is almost 2026!

And with the new year, and a lot going on all over the place, I am nervous yet excited to say that I am going on a "soft hiatus" of sorts. Long-form fanfiction with consistent updates has been my focus and my passion for the past couple years, and I've found myself anxious over the deadlines I have imposed on myself. Things got a little crazy for a bit, with a lot of little (but good!) things happening in my personal life that compounded that feeling. Well! I'm setting aside a year to focus on writing over posting! For those that are curious, my plans for the next couple years are below.

What to expect in 2026:

One-shots/Two-shots

The Unwish Principle updating weekly again as soon as I finish the last four chapters. This one breaks the hiatus rules a little bit, but I intended for it to be finished by now before burn-out struck.

Epithetober as usual- I never miss it!

Collab projects with my partner? 👀 👀 👀

What to expect in 2027:

Series "A Name of My Own" finished and posting weekly

Series "Spooky Month: Sweet Fang" revised, finished, and posted

Series "The Convergence AU" updating with at least two new, completed stories.

13 Cards KuroGabri slowburn longfic finished and posting weekly (maybe two of 'em)

13 Cards x Pokemon "Battle Tower AU" finished and posting weekly

A lot of other, smaller long-form content that I've been working on passively, including Sonic Movie 3 fics and Invincible Fight Girl fics will hopefully be finished as well.

With any luck, series "Time and Time Again" will have entries five and six finished and in reserve so I can focus on finishing arc one and planning out arch two before it even starts updating weekly again.

Bittersweet to see Like Minded come to an end but I want to thank you so much for giving us something to look forward to every Wednesday <3 No matter how small the vignette, it always really made my day, as for my friend.
