New wangxian art is cooking
When maids and concubines do murders in historical dramas I don’t think that’s a crime. They should be allowed to do that
Just a heads-up on new scam tactics: I wrote a post last night about how I would love to write Kingdom Come fanfic, but I like the games too much to be inspired by them (I need to be equally intrigued by and pissed off at canon's squandered potential for my muse to get excited). This morning I had a DM from a user I don't know, who sent me a screenshot of the post and asked if I had written any fics before that I felt comfortable sharing.
Spidey senses tingling, I went to their blog, and they have only a few posts, almost all about art commissions; then I check their comments, all of which are them responding to various posts offering commissions work.
I blocked them without responding, but I'm sure if I had sent them a link to my work, the next message would have been the usual, 'Wow, this is great! I can visualise it so easily! I'd love to make art for it!' scam that's so prevalent.
Be very, very sceptical. Scammers are trying to change things up and give themselves the veneer of legitimacy before hitting you with the ol' 'Your work has inspired me so much! Pay me money and I'll show you what I can create with that inspiration' rubbish because too many writers have been warned about this particular scam for them to just roll up and drop it as their opening line. I have never known a fandom artist, whether they take commissions or not, to only ever interact with people by offering commissions, or have only one example of their work on their blog. Those are huge red flags.
I even had someone come on my Patreon and try that get you to a secondary location thing. Scammers are literally everywhere these days.
I love the concept of Tooks. "Everybody in the Shire is very very businesslike and respectable and has no use for adventures except for this one entire family of mad lads who also run the municipal government"
The decision by the kings of Arnor to name the Tooks rightful thanes of the Shire was actually a 3000-IQ play by the Witch-King of Angmar to keep the Tooks far the fuck away from him
Ya gotta get 'em from where they'll least expected it

We need to go back to using sailing ships full time like immediately. Yes it would take longer to get places but the Aesthetic is unmatched
Like there is nothing sexier hthan this
Can’t wait for OP to get scurvy
Are you under the impression that the ships themselves are what caused scurvy
Once again. Do you think this is the fault of the ships themselves
If you are a fan fic writer and you're alright with people making fan art of your fic, reblog this 💚
with SO much love to the ones of you who've done that!! 💚
Hey there! Just a friendly reminder/PSA from your friendly neighborhood Pixiemage!
“Dead Dove: Do Not Eat” is too often (incorrectly) used as a cover-all tag, on fics ranging from Vaguely Uncomfortable to Serious Shit, as a replacement for any intense tags relating to the story. People will use it to say “Holy shit guys some INTENSE SHIT happens in this story” without actually saying what that Intense Shit™ is.
In actuality, the “Dead Dove” tag is meant to be used in addition to other warning tags. Pulled from a scene from the show Arrested Development (look it up on YouTube!), it means “Hi! Hey! I labeled this fic to warn you of what’s in it, so you might REALLY want to read those labels! This fic is exactly what it says on the tin! The tags are accurate! Don’t say I didn’t warn you, because this is me warning you! Read the tags!”
So before you accidentally use the “Dead Dove: Do Not Eat” tag without context, here’s your preemptive lesson for next time. Please tag your fics accordingly! Ta!

Still Can...
Beautiful. The composition. Colors. The lamp. The fact that the photographer managed to make the moon look GOOD (not all cameras and photographers can achieve that).
Absolutely spectacular. Ultraluminary. Yes.
Not to be a stickler here, but please remember Michelle Trachtenberg was Jewish. When a Jewish person dies, you say “may their memory be a blessing”. In Hebrew this translates to “Zichronam livracha”. This is the preferred way to mourn the deceased in Judaism.
Rest In Peace is a Christian thing.
If you didn’t know this before, now you do.
Unpopular opinion but if you don't enjoy the process you should find a different thing to do.
And I think this is true in general but now I'm talking about it in the context of AI.
If you don't enjoy making art and only care about the end piece and how it'll look and how much traction it"lol get online then making art is not something for you, find something you enjoy from start to finish.
Same goes for writing: if you do not enjoy writing and rewriting and then some more and instead want AI to write for you, being a writer is not something you should pursue.
Sure, not every part of creative process is going to be equally enjoyable but you should get satisfaction from solving the problems along the way and you should get a sense of accomplishment on your way of "making the piece yours" and you should have a sense of ownership once you are done.
None of these things will come from typing in a prompt into chatGPT. And I am sad to see so many people are missing on the opportunity to experience the joy of making something with their own hands and brains.
#this is so true#i know writers like to joke about hating writing#but like if you're serious?#if you actually hate the process of writing?#why is this what you've chosen to pursue#just do something else
