My Father Was a Good Man is a comic I wrote in 2023 that you can now read online or buy physically. Many of you may have seen it described as a horror story involving a wolf, but at its heart it's a story about domestic violence. I wanted to take a moment to speak about that more earnestly.
Many immigrant children grow up believing the abuse they experience at home is normal. Laughing off being hit with a shoe or beaten for poor grades as if it were simply part of life. This comic is about reckoning with those quiet, everyday horrors, and how sometimes the worst acts of violence come from those closest to us.
If you have ever struggled at home, I hope this work reaches you. I hope it lightens a memory you’ve carried alone for too long. I wrote this story about a specific time in my life when I was 16. I am 29 now, and with time and effort, things have turned out alright.
Stay safe out there,
Adeline Kon

"You know, sometimes people are totally fascinated with monsters. What... aren't you? Don't you want some Michael Myers type to come slowly eviscerate you and tell you what's really on the inside?"
I’m so happy to announce that my comic OUTSIDE ARE THE DOGS is slated for a fall release with Silver Sprocket!
Melle, a lonely trans student, is drawn into a mysterious spirituality group through their crush and tasked with caring for the group’s growing pack of angel dogs. As the dogs overrun Melle’s apartment and their health deteriorates, Melle begins to confront a deeper truth about their gender and the conditional love binding them to the cult. When one angel starts to grow sick, Melle must choose between preserving the faith that is destroying them or finally choosing themself.
I’ve spent years working on this now, and it’s finally close to being in people’s hands. If you love queer horror, I hope you’ll love this book.
Just for the record this is a real problem I'm having. What does one do with a possibly cursed mystery door in the blackberry patch. Besides ignore it and keep eating blackberries...
