eyes shifted from him to the other people. she didn’t want to deal with a werido brit in the middle of a city that he shouldn’t be in. on the other hand, if someone else saw him from the different areas he would be killed. & if she had to guess, probably penguin.

A lot of people had a hard time believing that he was any sort of good guy. While John might not call himself a “good guy,” he definitely tried to do the right thing. He also definitely went places that he should not have gone to, so any sort of warning she might give him was not going to be heeded.
“Ta fer th’ cautionin’, luv, but I can take care o’ meself. Maybe I’ll hit those sewers on th’ way out. Sounds like fun.” He smirked, aware that this was not the best place to be, but thinking that made it a prime target for alien agents too. “Ok, glad you believe me on that count, so I don’t ‘spose you’ll let me on whether anythin’ weird’s goin’ on 'round here? Promise I won’t interfere in anythin’ yer doin’.”
selina knew people, she knew if they were bad or good by a glance. it was a good skill to have in the east end, someone who you thought was your friend could end up stabbing you or worse, and your enemy could become your best friend in an instant. she knew he wouldn’t cause trouble for her or anyone here. or it would be painful for him.
