i really hated how they made El so robotic and devoid of emotions in s5 and all she did was train and focus on the mission, and they decided she didn't have a best friend anymore because Max made El realize that she has to try things to see if she likes them and she introduced her to girlhood and she made El realize that she has to think for herself so they had to retcon that because all El did in s5 was be a superhero instead of a teenage girl who just wanted to live her own life, El had men dictate her whole life when her arc was supposed to be about being independent and finding herself, she just wanted to be a normal girl with friends and a family and instead she died doing something she hated, afraid and not understood, she suffered her whole life, she's been abused and grew up in a lab and instead of letting El discover herself and letting her live happy with her friends and family they decided to kill her off which was lazy, bad and predictable writing, i'm still really disappointed because I really liked her character and she had so much more potential :(, they made her DEATH about another character and we never got to find out what she wanted for herself after everything was over

thinking about the fact that Mike imagined Will's bf to look just like him because he self-inserted as Will's boyfriend because he wishes he wasn't too late because he thinks Will is over him and he lost his chance forever just because he was too scared to be himself

but Will still loves him deeply but he never got to find out in canon, they never got to love each other at the right time

Mike never got to find out the feelings he fell in love with in the van were Will's, he never found out that Will loves him exactly how he wants to be loved

but in the epilogue in the little dorm scene he imagined Mike had the picture of a bi writer he probably looks up to because he too is/was repressing his feelings, but i do think in college Mike will meet his own Robin who will help him come to terms with himself
