I'm a friend of Red's, the name's Dan. I not only helped fix red's pokedex, but I also built my own custom Rotom Pokedex from dead pokedexes. Even helped him complete his pokedex.

“F-For real mister?! You fix Pokedexes?!” Ash hurriedly took off his backpack to retrieve a red contraption out of it’s main compartment. He then goes up to Dan, a sparkle and a flame in his eyes.

“Can you please fix mine! His name is Dexter and he’s a really hard-working Pokedex, but he can be a reeeeal jerk sometimes. You think you can fix his attitude? Maybe make him nicer?”

Dan: of course I can fix it. *I pull out my toolbox, and open it* lets see, multi-bit screwdriver, security bits, and diagnostic hardware. *I open your pokedex* I recognize that sign all too well. Rotom, backup the ROM file from Ash’s pokedex before it attempts to corrupt itself due to a bad memory chip on the motherboard.

Rotom: On it! *I connect to Ash’s pokedex* Backing up ROM file and associated data, please do not close pokedex during transfer.

Dan’s Feelings about Halloween

Dan the maintenance man hasn’t taken part in Halloween festivities since he was 6 years old. when he was 5, some ass hats decided to ruin it for him by teasing him. to say he hates Halloween is an extreme understatement.

any mention of it results in his always stoic reply of: “blech, whatever. I have more important things to do” and that’s where the conversation ends.

Dan: yes, you can use it the same way. it will even tell you where to find the pokemon. if you do get confused, the programs I gave you have a tutorial for you to follow. I recommend using the tutorial, as I had to figure it out the hard way when I built my Rotom Dex.

“A tutorial huh? Well thank you! I just hope I don’t still mess something up…” Technology was not Red’s strong suit, he still has no idea how he was able to turn Bill back into a human using that machine.

“Well, I’m off to show Professor Oak I’ve finished the Pokedex! Thanks again, Mister Dan!”

since then, 8 months have passed, and a voicemail is left of Red’s phone. the voicemail plays back this message: Dan: Hi Red, its Dan. Sorry for basically dropping off the face of the planet for a while, had 89 new pokemon to catch.
