I happened to visit my parents' country house. It's been a long time since I've been out of town to get some fresh air.

Apart from digging a vegetable garden, it was very atmospheric to paint sitting under a tree.

This thought kept me awake for several nights and was spinning in my head. Now it's yours too.

I like to think about that. Concepts where you can connect with yourself and your partner so deeply that you merge into something literally new.

Plus, I've always loved the simple yet sweet designs of Steven Universe.

I REALLY WANTED TO DO THIS

Driftdoor x Steven Universe

The Drifter is a corrupted Scarlet Sarder (a type of quartz), the Doorman is a Red Diamond, who disguises himself as Red Carnelian (also a type of quartz), but actually owns a red colony of Sarders. It's similar to Rose's story, but Dormen is much more distant from his people and chaotic, stifled by his Homeworld.

And their fusion, bloody Chalcedony.

Archmother is like a cross between the White and Blue Diamonds, but more White. And the Hidden King is like the Yellow Diamond.

I looked at various divine designs for the Doorman, and I really like how people see him in this form.

I decided to combine old designs of my work deities to create something equally suitable, but so far it seems like I've relied too much on other people's hooded designs, and I want something original.

Also, I want to somehow emphasize in the image that he's not what he pretends to be to mortals, that he's a deity who used to enjoy physically tormenting them, something he mentions in passing in some conversations.

I don't know if I'll overdo it.

I'm thinking about this idea with Doorman. Maybe I think I need to add more of his shadow, or maybe I should play with the shapes and doors in the background.

I love the designs by @masterbardo. I had to draw something and honestly I'm tempted to draw more. The game Sky: Children of the Light had been in my to play list for a while and this finally made me play it. I love it! Beautiful and cute game. I hope this does your designs justice, it was a fun little thing to do.

More Skylock (Sky COTL + Deadlock)

Every year I think about how many years have passed between us, and how many more are waiting for us.

You are my ray of light, not just a close friend, but a part of my family, I will always be there, no matter what happens.

I have so many thoughts about the SWAP AU.

The Drifdors are like a quarrelsome married couple. Celeste, whose horn was broken by hunters and she became a true freedom fighter.

And then there's Seven and Haze. Haze, who isn't an OSIC agent, but simply an experiment, was trapped by circumstances. Sandman isn't a title, but the mark of a chained supersoldier, used to follow orders and then returned to the cage. She's trying to get as many people out of OSIC as possible.

Seven, on the other hand, has achieved what he wanted…but he's not satisfied with it and never will be. He's close to the divine, he has power, but it doesn't bring him the satisfaction he desires.

And, as you can see, he and Haze have a complicated relationship.
