hi! i was wondering if you knew of any resources about what different skin conditions look like on Black skin? or even like a better place to ask, if this isnt it. ive been hunting through google and idk if im doing it wrong or if documentation on what conditions look like in Black people is that sparse but i am struggling to find stuff. i know Mind The Gap but i was wondering if there was any other similar resources? even compendiums that arent focused on skin conditions but just symptoms in Black people in general would be welcome. i enjoy integrating conditions into characters realistically but im struggling to find good and varied photo references for a lot of stuff im afraid, and it has become kind of a roadblock in my designing because im unwilling to inaccurately portray stuff like that. sorry if this is a bad place to ask or if youve answered this already 😅

There's not gonna be just One Book on Black People Symptoms, because even outside of our physiology, there's a lot of factors that affect our health. A lot of these are admittedly US centered, but I'm still presenting them because the presence of illnesses and how they'll look on brown skin will be similar.

i keep thinking about this so im putting it here

i don't know how to put it/say it but i havent been drawing since i essentially forgot how? not like how to use the programs i use to draw, but ever since the weird mix of having covid and going back on adhd meds after 10 years, theres this weird gap in my memory in how to do basics?

specifically this combo bc covid made my memory even worse than it was before, and then adhd meds gave me back a functional memory

anyway i hope ill get back to posting art soon, even if its just gesture sketching. i dont want to say "after the semester is over!" even though thats realistically when ill be able to draw

if you have dissatisfaction/dislike of whatever youre drawing basically consistently, i would recommend stepping back and looking objectively

WHAT'S THE TURNAROUND TIME?

sketches should be finished 1-2 weeks after commissioned. if 2 weeks pass and the sketch isn't done, i'll refund you the entire thing

HOW DOES THE CHIBIS THING WORK?

an extra chibi can be added with the purchase of a halfbody / fullbody sketch comm. it will also be in b/w. doesn't have to be of the same character

WHAT ABOUT ADDITIONAL CHARACTERS?

additional characters are full price (ie 2 halfbodies are 60USD). this is because i am disabled & very tired
