Stem Cells To Neurons, Scientists Getting Closer
Controlled differentiation is the most researched area in stem cell research. Currently undifferentiated cells are being used in stem cell treatments all the world which many
scientists believe are ineffective.
Scientists at Feinberg School of Medicine Chicago made a major breakthrough in Alzheimer's.
For first time successfully figured out the gene sequence required to turn them into BFC neurons,
which are lost in Alzheimer's.
Though it is not yet a cure or treatment for Alzheimer's, we can certainly look forward for the day,
when we figure out converting stem cells to neurons or cranial nerves. That would bring hope
to millions of people suffering with brain injury or spinal cord injury. Even cerebral palsy and stroke.
