Packing up my room and getting ready to move into the condo I just bought. Life is crazy and Tay doesn't even have a song called "23" to describe it... I guess I'll just have to reread all the magazines with her on the cover I found while packing..

“I want you to promise me something. If you love someone, you tell them. Even if you’re scared that it’s not the right thing. Even if you’re scared that it will cause problems. Even if you’re scared it will burn your life to the ground. You say it, and you say it loud. And then you go from there…”
Mark Sloan (Greys Anatomy)
Taylor Swift songs have always been relevant to my life. She puts out a new CD and at least one of the songs directly relates to a situation in my life. When Speak Now came out, the exact story line of “Story of Us" played out in front of me the same week. When I was in high school my best friend directly experienced the tragic story of “Forever and Always,” and theres so many other things in my life that have paralleled Taylor’s songs and advice. I never thought for a second that Bad Blood would take place in my life. Every one of my close friends I truly trust and love, I would do anything for them and they would for me as well.
Until one day when I realized people can surprise you. Sometimes the people you thought would be in your life forever make it nearly impossible for you to keep them there -- no matter how hard you try. In the past few months I have learned that some people are not meant to be in your life forever and that is OKAY. I also learned that friendship heartbreaks are often times worse than romantic ones. I also learned that when you are struggling you find out the people in your life who are the most important to you -- you find out who is always going to be there for you and who can hold all of your broken pieces together when you think that you can no longer function. I think the most important thing I learned though, is that loyalty only goes so far and friendships are about the people are walk in when your life and stay when it is hard BUT you also can’t expect yourself to be there for someone who is causing you pain, no matter how much you want to keep them in your life or help them.
It’s funny because I don’t have an army of girls on my side (well I guess I kinda do, ha) and I am not at war in any way. In fact, now I am absolutely fine and so many wonderful things have happened to me in my life so I didn’t think I would relate to this music video at all but I was wrong. Taylor Swift just always seems to understand, always. When Selena Gomez’s character pushes Taylor out the window I felt it, I understood exactly what she was going for, I knew that feeling, I had felt it before.
Taylor Swift, she just GETS it. Even when it doesn’t look like it, the emotion behind this video is 100% accurate to how it feels when you go through a friendship breakup, when someone you trust, love, and know turns out to be part of your past instead of your future.
Thank you Taylor, for always understanding and putting into words and video what I struggle to understand myself.
When I used to watch or read my favorite love stories I would think 'Wow, I wish someone would love me that much,' or 'Wow, I wish someone would care enough about me to do all of that.' Lately though I've been thinking more along the lines of, 'Wow, I really want to love someone that much,' or 'Wow, I want to make someone that happy.' It doesn't really seem that strange, but I guess I've just been looking at things a little differently these days. I'm not really sure why.
