I like to #makestuff. I'm not a great #welder, but I welded up the 20 ton press in the background to put in new rear wheel bearings in my SUV. The old bearing exploded when I pressed it out and a huge broken piece hit me in the gut, but the frame held strong. In the foreground is a solution to a pet peeve of mine. I always rip the little hook in the carpet of cars that keep the floor mats in place and I find it super annoying when they slide around. When paint is dry, this bracket will be under the carpet and bolt to the driver side seat. It will allow the floor mat to be held in place with a stainless steel button head bolt. Welds don't have to be pretty to be nice and projects don't have to be big to be satisfying. I encourage everyone to find opportunities to make something with your own two hands. #diy (at Silver Lake, Los Angeles)
