30 June 2012 1 night in frankfurt 27 hours fly time, we finally land at our first euro stop. Frankfurt Germany. The fist destination Is always very special. It's realizing that we have a very long journey ahead of us and this is only the starting line. Without further or do we eventually get our bearings and walk right into 30 degree heat. What a nice warm welcome! Once we locate our hotel and become slightly amused at the size of how tiny it is, we drop our luggage, grab a city map and head straight for the city's old town Romberg. Strolling along the main river walkway we are introduced to the style of how Europeans relax in the summer. Most are having a picnic on the riversides green grass, enjoying a beer, and playing games. Some have their feet in the water but that's about as far as it goes. We continue along heading towards the old town of Romberg. Once we reach the central plaza the restaurants are full of people eating and drinking. Fortunate for steph there is an art exhibition on display. We buy two tickets but only have time to see one of the two galleries. We find a restaurant in the plaza and enjoy a common German style lunch. Schnitzel and sausage. Not bad. There's a crazy mobile bar which involves 8 guys pedaling and drinking at the same time. They circle the plaza and the ride off leaving their echos behind. Walking out of the old town we head toward the main shopping district. We see this amazing street act where this guy appears to be levitating! We drop a euro into the hat. We make our way back to the hotel, which at night walking home.. It seems a little red light district like. We enjoy a good nights sleep. Tomorrow we make our way to the romantic city of Heidelberg.
