Why do people find it so hard to believe somebody when they disclose that they were abused as a child?
Two months almost to the day
No Further Action
The impact of being told that there isn’t enough evidence to peruse the case
Interviewed by Avon & Somerset Police on behalf of Hampshire Police regarding my report of non-recent abuse. Not an easy experience & support still not offered / signposted
Hants police
So the police are now investigating the childhood abuse I reported to them. Don't suppose after so many years they will be able to find enough evidence, but I have at least done what I have to
For a number of reasons, linked to the same underlying issue - that of historic abuse it has to be said, I have been asked to think about what forgiveness means
we are saying that we are relinquishing responsibility for the fate of the abuser and no longer keeping our selves tied to her.

Despite it being rather counter intuitive, how can an investigation into a report of a crime that may have happened 10, 20 or more years ago, be safety critical and does it fit the into a reasonable definition of a system anyhow. I would argue that yes it does meet both of these requirements.
My journey after reporting Non-Resent abuse to Hampshire Police
The response, support, actions and consequences
Why did I report Non-Recent abuse? An Act of faith. In my memories, in my desire for freedom and in my self.
But knowing this he stands and does not waver. He stands and will fight. He stands alone if he must. He stands knowing what may become of him. So the question for me is Can I stand?

Abuse, Its Impact & Me. Need for awareness, reporting doesn't end once abuse happened U can still save the child from a life of pain
