feel like i've lived ten different lives today and so happy about it. it's always reassuring when you can feel the burden of self-imposed restraints of everything else mumble and make themselves pathetic. it's all so pathetic and dumb and that's so lovely. evertything must be documented or else!!!!! or else it will all fall apart!!! it's akin to your own toes touching your socks! lately i've been remembering everything so clearly that i feel like i'm watching it all rotate in front of me like the sky
not trying to be all "puriteens these days 😤" bc i don't truly believe that but i think if hbo six feet under was airing today (which it wouldn't) then online fandom type circles would absolutely be losing their minds about it daily. this show has everything to argue about... dubious very hot man almost sleeping with a teenager. you know people would love that, or hate it so bad their eyes bleed. there's a gay cop of colour who is also boring. a bitchy gay conservative... almost-incest with two hot people. one-sided incestual lust. i don't even need to say anything. michael c hall who is probably not gay but maybe, and wouldn't people like to know or pretend not to want to know? one of the evil stereotype bisexual men is played by the showrunner's husband and so much more. best show ever, nobody should watch it

some movies are extremely good and well made but will never be your favorite and some movies are just unbelievably bad but they are your bestest friend and i recommend both types as though they were the same. which is why my dad doesnt trust me when i suggest a movie
car conversations so good bc of removal of eye contact expectation. let us all learn from this

i love implication i love metaphor i love suggestion sometimes it truly is unspeakable you can only look at it in your periphery anything else would destroy it
imperfect consistency rather than an all or nothing mentality

when the media uses phrases like “the union is demanding higher pay” they want you to think hey wait i wish i got paid better you’re telling me these whiny writers are refusing to work? i’m way worse off than them and i still go in to work every day!
they want you to stop there and stew in your resentment instead of following the logic forward to hey maybe if i had a union i would have better pay!
and they say stuff like “working conditions” for the same reason because they know it conjures the image of a sweatshop or something and you’re like well that’s absurd writers work in offices how bad could it be they don’t have “working conditions”
they want you to stop there and stew in your resentment because you also work in an office instead of thinking about what the word “conditions” means and whether you are allowed to take off work to be with your newborn child
don’t be fooled by this shit. don’t buy into the idea that people work in any field solely for the love of the game yes even when it’s a literal game (writers work on those too). work is work! money can be exchanged for goods and services!
