Your mental illness is lying to you.
You are not stupid. You are not ugly. You are not worthless. You are not weak. You are not a burden. Your mental illness is lying to you.
Also:
No you’re not bothering me. (Yes I’m serious.)
You’re not dumb.
You have great ideas.
Your smile isn’t ugly.
Neither is your laugh.
Yes people love you. No they’re not lying. Yes really.
YOU ARE NOT BOTHERING ME.
You don’t need to apologize, I actually AM very interested in our conversation.
YOU DON”T NEED TO APOLOGIZE FOR EXISTING.
in addition: yes i love you and your existence
Uhm… I really fucking needed to see this.
Yes, I am happy to hear from you.
You look nice today.
No, you aren’t being annoying.
Tell me more about the things you like, I’m interested in what you have to say.
If you changed your mind and can’t handle going out, we can hang out at home instead, I really don’t mind and I’m not mad at you.
Yes, I am really honestly happy that you’re here!
I think you’re pretty great actually.
So this is something we thought would be cool to do. Music is a very big part of our lives (well, at least we believe so) and helps us get through some tough times. Of course, everyone has a different taste in music, whether it be rock, pop, country, rap, or any other music genre out there, but these are a few of our favorite songs that keep us going. This playlist mainly consists of alternative rock, American and Korean pop music, and some others. If you ever feel down and need something to pick you back up, we recommend this playlist. We would appreciate it if you gave it a try. We understand that everyone likes different genres, but why not try something new? We hope you enjoy it. Thanks!
Friendly reminder
“Doing your best” does not mean working yourself to the point of a mental breakdown.
this one still smashes me in the face ten times a year. do not ignore pain, it’s no longer your best at that point
it’s no longer your best at that point
What qualifies as venting and what qualifies as simply sharing a mental health story?
Sharing a story is simply what it sounds like - telling about experiences.
I personally have mental health issues, so I could talk about times I remember that related to these issues. I could talk about times my social anxiety has been bad, or how being depressed has impacted my life.
I find it sort of hard to explain “venting” because it’s a nitpicky thing I don’t want to see here, since I think it might negatively affect others who might be viewing the blog. I also don’t want to be rude, so try to see it through the eyes of someone who’d rather not see arguments and chaos?
(Also I know venting has multiple contexts but for the sake of content on this blog I’ll be using this word to describe what I mean!)
In my case… describing how it feels to have social anxiety is sharing. Spamming “I’m alone” a lot of times is venting. I do understand that the latter is done to let out emotion - in the past I’ve had a vent account on a different social media site where I spilled out all my feelings. But this blog isn’t the place to do this, and I’m sorry to say that.
I think venting like that on this blog might make others feel worse. That sort of thing seems to be a bit more personal too, and is better saved for personal purposes.
Hopefully this is a good enough explanation!
Hello everyone!
We’d like to start off this blog by introducing something “regular” we want to do.
If you’re comfortable with doing so, we want some to share stories about their experiences with mental illness (anon will always be on, of course). These can be your personal experiences, or maybe some from a person close to you. We want this blog to be a positive space where people are able to relate with one another!
If you’d like to share, please be sure to check the rules.
Have a wonderful day, everyone! <3
