At 15,400 square feet (50m x 28.6m), this bandera monumental is the largest flag in Mexico. It flies atop a 100-meter pole at the top of Cerro del Obispado in Monterrey. There are other banderas monumentales scattered throughout the country -- part of a program initiated in 1999 under President Zedillo -- but none as grande as this one.

Nevado de Toluca (elev. 4,680 m (15,350 ft)), the 4th highest peak in Mexico and 17th highest in North America. We summited the lower of the two major peaks -- a new altitude PR for me!
