It’s 2025 and I’m still listening to the same songs from when I was a teenager. It hits every single time and especially these two songs. It brings back so many memories. Memories that shaped who I am today with people who I thought would be in my life forever. I’m not with the person that I was in love with and thought I’d start a family with. I’m not best friends with the person that I went through adolescence and experienced everything with. Literally all the friends from back then, I don’t talk to or see any of them anymore..my heart hurts when I think about them and imagine what my life would be like if they were around..but I know there’s no turning back now. We can never go back to what it was and I know that the person that I am now would not want to be.

Music is everything to me and it’s what connected me to others. All of my friendships (old & new) were made because of similar music tastes. I’m glad that I can even listen to these certain songs and reflect like this. There was a time when I couldn’t even bring myself to. I cherish all the memories attached to them now.
