so i finally got to this scene and

d-did people not understand this joke...?

#the joke is that you basically can't play any beatles music in any tv show because they are Extremely litigious over copyright shit #hell their songs weren't even available on music streaming platforms for a while. blocked worldwide #it's a good joke! did people seriously just not get it?#ren and stimpy #if you did get it and it just didn't make you laugh fair enough. comedy is subjective.#but please understand it's not just “teehee lol namedrop”. there's an actual joke they are making here

my biggest issue with "a stimpy is born" is that r&s already did this plot...as its first episode.

the difference is in "the big shot", ren's change of heart is slower and feels more natural, thus is more believable. in "a stimpy is born" ren is shown to be pissed that stimpy left him, not because he misses stimpy, but because of all the money and fame he's missing out on by not being a part of stimpy's success. it's only when stimpy comes to visit him that he suddenly has a change of heart, which kinda sucks.

a lot of what allows r&s to get away with really basic plots is "what if this plot but with ren and stimpy?" so when they do a plot they've already done in the original show, it loses its charm.
