The Cure, Disintegration (1989)
I remember being a kid and hearing Black Flag for the time (I think my brother had a cassette tape of theirs); it was like a cosmic shift in relaity for me - something about their music resonated with me in ways that other punk bands just didnt. Maybe it was the fact that their music seemed so genuine and pure; it was ugly and angry and honest, maybe it was the artwork that accompanied their albums and concert flyers (drawn by the talented Raymond Pettibon).
Whatever it was, this band irrevocably changed my life.
I'm older now, slower, not as angry as I used to be, but i can't imagine a world, or my life, without this band.
And maybe they didn't have tremendous success like the Beatles or the Rolling Stones, but a band like Black Flag just goes to prove that art and music and literature only need to inspire and impact one life to make a difference.
Some where out there a kid is waiting for your art to come along and impact their world in a way that will irrevocably change their life forever.

is ur name a NIN ref? luv it!
Yes, it is! It's amazing that you got the reference. Not many people are familiar with that album or with that song. Nine Inch Nails has so many other songs that are more popular. But I adore NIN.
