make VERY weird noises,,, like honking, purring, clucking, and peeping (soft peeping, they still think they are baby chicks)

additions:

if u raise them from small (or sometimes just anyway) you are Forever Mum and they will jump up on ur back and go to sleep

and preen you, rearrange your clothes and hair sometimes

dont like dealing with spiders in house? go outside. pick up chicken. hold chicken in vicinity of spider. spider vacuumed up in about 0.3 seconds.

make amusing Warning Noise when a Bad Bird goes overhead. sometimes this is something sensible like a raptor. sometimes it is a startling blackbird, or maybe nothing (maybe chickens can see extradimensional birds? unsure)

when chicken mama has babby chicken and they get in her feathers and poke their heads out

rooster is Very Protective but also thinks that maybe anything that peeps is Potential Flock Babies. has been known to bring food for goslings and ducklings

actually roosters in general are very cute. find food and go beep beep beep so ladies can find it. if you give him a nice treat he wont eat it and will go find a lady to give it to.

lol I love this post, but it reminded me of this poster in the gun shop I go to... So there’s this gun shop down the street from me where I do most of my firearms-related business, and in addition to being a gun store, they’re also like a general preparedness / survival sort of store. State of Jefferson / No Step On Snek flags all over the storefront, etc. You know the type.  Well, anyway, they have a display in the store, a quail display. They have a big, spacious cage with some quail in it, and then they have this big poster next to the cage that compares the benefits of raising quail versus raising chickens. Now, I love chickens, my family raised eight hens when I was a kiddo, and they were very cute and lots of fun.  However, this poster. I’ve got to get a picture of it the next time I go there, because it’s literally just a list of why quail are fucking rad and 1000x better than chickens and you should raise twenty of them like right the fuck now. It just makes me smile every time I see it, because of how fucking excited about quail they are at this store, hahaha

its really funny to me how despite your background story being exactly the same in every pokemon game

the new kid who just moved to the region and adjusts to culture shock via endless travelling through said region

like….every single professor has noticed this like ‘ah yes you must be the new……..creature……girl…? boy….? anyhow im sure you’ll be fine now go take this level 5 lizard and red smartphone and dont talk to me until youre the champion or filled out your smartphone. or you know what? ill find you.’

anyway despite all that being exactly the same every single pokemon game and all the professors being loveable fun people, Kukui is the only professor who is making sure these 12 year olds are doing ok consistently. Following you around the islands, paying ur bus fare, showing u where the good food is etc.

like hes the only one who it like occurred to him that maybe he should try and watch out for these children in a world filled with crazy world-forming monsters.
