My (not so) love story

I’m on my firs year of college and about a few weeks into it I began to look at one of the boys in my class differently. I believe up until this day, he is different, I think he is special.

But the thing is, the way I look at him is the way he looks at this other girl- Val. Don’t get me wrong she is one of the most adorable, gorgeous, funny, smart human beings I have ever met. That’s exactly why he likes her. Although for some reason, she doesn’t seem to like him back.

Weeks went by and I finally made a move on him, and guess what? We kissed. I never thought I would be the kind of gal that actually gets the boy she wanted. Ever since that day, we began to speak more to each other and I loved it. We had a conversation about becoming “friends with benefits”, I couldn’t see anything wrong with that.

We went to a party, kissed for a few hours and at the after party, that was at my friend’s house- in the same student housing as I live. Me and the boy eventually came upstairs and he stayed the night, although nothing other than kissing happened.

The next week, he stayed the night, but I since had my period, nothing sexual happened- again. The third time was the charm, and by the time it happened I’ve already started to develop feelings for the guy.

In the next week we were supposed to go to a party, but he bailed on me when I was already there. I got drunk- like really drunk. Long story short, I’ve ended up sending him an audio saying I liked him and telling every single one of our friends that too. In the next morning I appologized and said I didn’t ment it- what wasn’t 100% truth, just about 50%.

He started to act weirdly around me, the light vibe we had became really heavy. We barely talked for weeks, until I went after him to make things right, we became friends again.

But ever since the first time he went to my dorm, I can see him in his goofy face everywhere, even when I don’t want to. I’m terrified that we will make out with Val, because between the us both, I would choose her too. We are approaching our summer break now, I have to go back home, but they live close, there’s not much I can do. I suffer for the boy who was never really mine and wish to be the perfect girl that I admire.
