“I-I guess so.” He smiled nervously , grateful for the reassurance. “She doesn’t mind it being pastel she just wishes it was purple. Tucker did once try to use her parent’s tech to make these ghosthunting mecha-spiders once though.”

He didn’t understand parallel worlds. He hoped not all the ones that he would encounter would be so confusing. “Try?” the ghost asked, curious about the story behind it. “What happened?”

Danny shuddered in slight fear and shook his head. “Something went wrong and then next thing I know they’re chasing me and Sam all over the school! ”

“Yea but I really don’t like handling that stuff. Really I just get in the way. “ The nerd said, sounding disappointed in himself. He had to laugh at the doppleganger’s question though. “Yea its the Manson Thermos. And it’s pastel.”

“Come on, man, you gotta try,” Danny replied, giving his alternate a friendly cuff on the shoulder. “Past-” Danny facepalmed. “And what does Sam think of it being pastel? Wait, no, you said Tucker was the goth. Man, this is so confusing …”

“Oh great, there’s a universe where I died completely. That’s just dandy.~” Sarcasm wasn’t usually his thing but he certainly was using it now. “Sam’s the halfa and my parents are completely normal. And I wish my life was normal but you know, ghosts attack, I’m completely useless in battle, the usual.”

“Hey!” Danny exclaimed. “It’s not completely my fault I died! I didn’t even realize at first that I died!” He exhaled slowly, trying to calm himself down, before frowning at Danny’s last sentence. “Shouldn’t you have a least some proficiency in working ghost weapons, though? I mean, my Sam and Tucker can work at least a couple things well enough to help …”

As a thought came to him, Danny asked, “Wait, don’t tell me it’s called the Manson thermos instead of the Fenton thermos?”

“Uh yea. Sam’s parents are ghost hunters and Tucker is a goth. He always these little spider robots with him, they come in handy but it’s still creepy.”  Danny looked at his alternate and raised an eyebrow. “I can only assume you’re the ghost kid where you’re from. “

“Sam’s …” he trailed off. “Wait, does that mean Sam’s the halfa? I mean, I knew alternate universes could be pretty different but …” He shook his head. “Yeah. I’m the halfa, with the ghost hunting parents. Or at least, I was until I died during a ghost attack … I’m all ghost now. Sam’s the goth and Tuck’s the techno geek.”

Danny had once again came into crossfire with Sam and that stupid hunter ghost that was determined on capturing her when he heard the other. He turned around and saw the halfa and his former angered expression immediately dropped. 

“What the heck!?“

“Okay, perfect opener for a ‘what’s the matter: you look like you’ve seen a’ pun, but not even I’m going to go there.” 

Danny looked around, drifting lower but still not quite touching the ground before he frowned at the eerie look-alike again. 

“Your name wouldn’t happen to be ‘Danny,’ would it?”

“Uh actually yes. I assume yours is too huh?“

Danny couldn’t quite stop staring at the other. It just threw him off guard. But then again just about every ghost he saw did.

Danny shrugged slightly and rubbed the back of his neck nervously. “Uh well its normal really I guess. Other than one of my friends is a tech goth and the other has freaky ghost Hunter parents. ”

Danny blinked. “Tech … goth? What, are we combining Sam and Tucker here?” Then he realized what else his parallel had said. “Wait, the other has ghost hunter parents? You’re normal?” Because this was completely different from what the ghost had expected.

Danny was currently on the ground feeling around for his glasses. Something had hit him in the head most likely on purpose and knocked them off. Unfortunately he wasn’t having much luck finding them. He just hoped to find them before someone stepped on them.

Vlad hardly noticed the boy on the ground, however, he did see the glasses. In fact, he almost stepped on them. Bending down to pick them up, he looked for the owner. That was when he saw someone feeling around on the floor. “Hey…you’re not looking for these glasses, are you?” He called out.

Danny’s eyes widened as he looked up at the blurry figure. “A-Ah yes I am. Thanks I don’t know what I would’ve done if they had been broken.” The teen stood up and brushed his jeans off as he talked.

Vlad held the glasses until the other teen was done cleaning off his pants. “Do they jump off your face often?” He asked jokingly as he handed them back.

Danny  chuckled slightly as he took them and put them back on. “ I’d be lying if I said no. “

Vlad chuckled. “I know what that’s like, though usually its my daughter taking my glasses off, and not them jumping.” He said.

The ghost cleared his throat. “Um. Okay. Parallel self. With glasses. Didn’t expect this to actually happen. Ummmm … So, how would you describe your life?” How are you different than me? Besides the glasses, of course.
