Because we are brushing teeth and no you cannot have a cookie. Especially not screaming your absolute friggin brains out. I will never give into screaming demands for cookies.

My almost-three-year-old really likes Ahsoka Tano.

First she was intrigued by the silly little plush I got of Ahsoka a couple years back. For a while it sat next to my computer but I brought it up to my room in a bid to tidy some clutter, where it was promptly adopted and spirited out.

So I showed kiddo the first episode of Tales of the Jedi, with baby Ahsoka and the big saber cat. She loves seeing babies with mamas and she loves cats. She's enchanted.

Clone Wars is kind of intense for a littler kid, so I have to screen episodes first to make sure they're okay (and not too political/boring), find the more slapstick ones. But so far she's loving it. Anytime Ahsoka or Yoda is talking is her favorite. Or droids.

So that's super fun!

Hell yeah. Sword girlies.

There's a kinder level karate class at a dojo near us... And I am soooo looking forward to taking her in a few months. Once she's a few months over three.

Some part of me also wants to do it too because I want martial arts in my life again in some way. I really miss kendo. I had to stop because it's so high impact and post pregnancy... It's way harder on me than it used to be. The jumping during warmups and suburi mostly. And trying to keep up with those fast-as-fuck teenage boys uugghh. Maybe physical therapy this summer will help... But I'm not opposed to the idea of trying a new martial art... Still... oohhh kendo my beloved.

But! Baby karate!? How cute! Short Saturday class. Great opportunity to be around other kids in a non-school setting.

We will indoctrinate her with Avatar the Last Airbender... Ehehuhuhu... Fighting and self defense is cool, hell yeah girl.

Man was a stupid week.

Discovered our health insurance premiums are now 100% more. Talk about sticker shock. Changed them and hopefully it won't be as bad... Ugh. Probably going to wind up eating the cost next year during taxes, goodbye tax refund.

I REALLY HATE HOW WE CHOOSE TO SUBSIDIZE COMPANIES INSTEAD OF PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY. I WOULD MUCH PREFER PAYING INTO A PUBLIC OPTION.

On a related note, I will never vote for any politician who doesn't openly state that they are for universal healthcare.
