I'm loving these people I'm finding and these relationships I'm forming! Tuesday I stood up for myself... he had been saying he wanted to try it my way and he wants to write a contract and wants to punish me... I told him that if he wanted me this is how it was gonna be: I'd go, he'd beat me, we'd fuck, we get what we want, we don't talk about us I leave. Slowly we become friends, and maybe talk about our relationship and the next steps eventually... but as of now.. it was my way. I'm supposed to see him and to have a three sum with this super hot couple tomorrow! Then maybe being the mistress to a beautiful man, followed by a family trip to Toronto for the bluejays game and back to fuck some people Monday... few options, im undecided but my most exciting is getting beat right the fuck up Tuesday night! (Hopefully) Final Thoughts on FSoG

Sooo…imagine you have a semi-obscure hobby.  Like, you’re not just a gardener, but you are specifically really into growing and caring for carnivorous plants.  And you research it really thoroughly, and you go to classes, and eventually you get a job in a store that sells supplies for growing and tending carnivorous plants.

Then someone writes a novel, and it really takes off, and the main character also grows carnivorous plants.  And clearly it’s not very well researched, and the character is kind of jerk and reminds you of your douchey ex, but lots of new people are getting interested in the hobby, and that’s really cool!

After a year or so things die down some, and people aren’t coming into the store where you work and making references to that book and the douchey main character constantly.

But then a movie is released, and it starts all over again!  People who were not previously interested in the carnivorous plant are coming into the store and pointing at really advanced species (like, the kind the main character of the book/movie would shy away from) and saying “That’s so [that guy]!”  And every time you turn on NPR, they’re talking about the carnivorous plant movie!

Eventually, you just get really tired and burnt out trying to educate everyone about what’s wrong with the carnivorous plant book/movie.  Because it’s super full of inaccuracies, and also now everyone thinks that everyone in the carnivorous plant hobby is kind of a controlling jerk.  And that’s people’s only frame of reference for something that’s super important to you.  And a lot of people don’t even really care enough to want to learn more, a lot of them just want to recreate a scene from the book/movie.

It’s just really exhausting, and the overwhelming media coverage makes you feel like you’re at work all the time, and all your customers are like “Oh, you must be really into that movie that’s coming out!  Have you seen it yet?”

I’m tired, is what I’m saying.
