Have you watched Wesward???
I've been rewatching it lately, and it's amazing how different Wukong is from his other portrayals
I thought a monk that muscular would only be possible if they adapted Trip as a Shaolin monk
Hm, I've never heard of that show before. Would be cool to check out if you know where to watch? I know there's a couple of upcoming movies that I'm interested in checking out: Wukong Warrior and Monkey King Rises got my interest 👀
Sometimes I'm surprised by Wukong HIB's angry temperament, given that he seems like a more mature version in the film buttttt then I remember the Deep Sea short and I get over it lol
PS: I love Jiang as a martial arts master!
PS2: What does Baije think of their closeness? 👀✨️
Yeah, HIB version of Wukong seems to be a mix of mature n hot tempered, but still have that mischievous nature still in him. A total contrast to the other adaptations for sure. 😂 I love that Deep Sea short!
1. I love that they touch up on that concept in the video game. It's an unusual characteristic for the monk, so intrigued n infatuated in training under Wukong, but I think it gives a unique relationship where Liuer can handle himself to some extent while not feeling totally useless. He'd be more involved/willing to help Wukong fight, though maybe Wukong would feel the risk hits more personal to keep the monk safe throughout jttw because he failed him once before. 🤧
2. I actually posted a suntang fanfic earlier this year that has a section with Bajie and Liuer discussing that topic! I'd say he isn't fully shocked about their growing bond, being the group's womanizer, more so dumbfounded Liuer even has feelings for a rebellious monkey. He's like an uncle figure to the monk, so he'd usually go to him for some "relationship advice" lol 😂 If you're interested in reading it, here's a link!

You art is so cutee 💗
Lier is so precious and Wukong is adorable when he gets nervous around him
Thanks for the kind words! 🤧💕
I'd like to think since the hero is back version of the monk/monkey king started pre-journey, by the time jttw events occur, Wukong's vulnerability is expressed deeper/openly because his bond with Liuer intensifies as their time together grows closer to the point of mutual companionship (rather than the master/disciple relationship as shown in most adaptations)
Don't eat that peach, Liuer!
Alt. ending to HiB 😂
