Meeting at the Bar || Fabrose

Marley smirked at some ridiculous comment her best friend made the kitten video she reposted on Facebook, Marley never could resist a funny at video. Suddenly she felt like someone was standing over her shoulder. After a quick look behind her revealed no one was there her gaze fell back toward the screen, but she still couldnât shake the feeling. Marley looked up to find those canvas worthy green eyes staring right at her. This was ⊠strange? No. Intriguing? Maybe. Why would someone who looked like that be staring at here? Then it donned on her that she was obviously staring at some hottie behind her. âDuh Marlsâ. She turned around again but there was no one in there womanâs direct line of sight.Â
Not knowing what to do exactly in this moment, Marley rose her hand slightly waving awkwardly. The entire time she was inwardly chastising her child like actions. The goofy smile spread across her face, surely didnât help matters. She looked over at her hand, which was still awkwardly waving out of its own volition, and physically pulled it down to her lap with her other hand. âGet a grip, ding dong.â Marley stood after the picking up the drink the bartender had just sat in front of her and walked around to the other side of the bar. âHey, sorry about that. My sort of did a weird thing where it was taken over by aliens and caused me to be weird, like more weird than normal.â A soft nervous laugh fell from her lips. âIâm Marley by the way. Profession making awkward things awkwarder⊠More awkward?â She really had no idea what the hell she was doing.Â
Quinnâs stare at the woman prompted the most bizarre reaction and she didnât know whether to find humor or to question the girlâs sanity. However, the latter seemed the better choice as there was a type of dialgue exchanged between herself and Quinn decided to mark her off as someone who clearly wasnât of drinking age. She turned away, ready to return to the last of her wine and contemplative thoughts, yet there was a soft, bashful voice which pulled her from achieving just that. With a slow turn, Quinn brought her attention t the newcomer and realized it was the girl; who was desperately trying to make up for the little show she put on moments before.Â
There was a pause from her end and Quinn crossed her legs and she placed her folded hands atop of a bare knee. This young thing seemed to want her validation of some sort. Or approval perhaps as that was the only thing that made sense with how she rambled in a rather cute manner. The corner of her perfectly painted lips quirked and she said, âItâs nice to meet you, Marley. I think the awkwardness stems from nerves. Do you feel nervous about something?â She intentionally withheld her name, assuming not giving it to her immediately might continue this little performance; one fueled by whatever happened to be on Marleyâs mind.
