When I first thought about writing this long fic about Collei, I felt an overwhelming urge to sit down at my computer and start writing it immediately.
But at the same time, I was afraid no one would truly appreciate it.
Collei is a deeply tragic character, and too many Genshin fans would rather obsess over the man who hurt her than care about her instead — the real victim of a horrible story we sadly see reflected in real life every day.
What makes Collei so compelling to me is her rebirth, both mental and physical.
She had to learn how to live again, and through study, kindness, and Tighnari’s guidance, she’s becoming an incredible young woman: intelligent, compassionate, resilient.
There’s something profoundly moving about her ability to rebuild herself and keep going despite everything. I’ve always admired her for that.
That’s why I wanted to write her as deeply human.
In my fanfiction, Collei is reaching the end of her studies. She’s on the verge of blooming into herself. But before that, she has to confront her own heart — and her desire to experience a tender, youthful kind of love.
The language is explicit, and so are the consensual fantasies she explores throughout the story
