Jon Payne, watched her mingle with her fans, smiling for all her worth, he knew she'd complain her cheeks hurt from smiling so much, but also knew she loved it, loved her fans. Doubling as her assistant and body guard, Jon was never far from her, ready to swoop in and save her should she need it and keep her in schedule when she forgot the time. "Come on, you have an interview in thirty minutes. Time to say bye." He stood off at the side chiding her gently.

“No.” She said firmly, without hesitation. “I walked away from it. I could never get with hurting innocent people. Never sat right with me. But that only got worse after Auschwitz. When I took on my name, it was like I was taking on this responsibility to be better than the men who committed those crimes - since a lot of them were demons, like me.” She paused. “Can’t imagine how Klaus deals with this.” She knew he didn’t, but that wasn’t the point.
Reacting across the table Diego took her hand and squeezed. “I didn’t mean to bring up any bad memories for you. What those people, demon or otherwise did was vile, you were on the receiving end of those attrocities.” He wished regularly that he could help his brother forget what he saw when he jumped back in time and now he wished Maly hadn’t had to endure the worse horrors man had made.
“The memories are always there. Anytime someone says my name, anytime I run my fingers through my hair, every time it hits 1 in the morning. There’s only so much you can do.” Maly shrugged, squeezing his hand in return. “Know what you can do, though? Consume cupcakes by the dozen, be fluffy and every once in a while book in a rooftop crying session.” She chuckled, trying to make light of it but that was what she did.
Diego offered a crooked smile and squeezed her hand once more. “I can’t do much, fluffy isn’t in me, but I can be a shoulder to cry on, hold you when you walk in the night and promise to try not to let any more bad happen to you.”
“You ever run your fingers through your hair? You’re fluffy as shit, I love it.” She smiled brightly, leaning forward and running her fingers through his hair for the effect. “I don’t know what product you use but it’s working.” She added.
“I wouldn’t hold yourself responsible if something does happen to me or if I get upset at something, or whatever, y’know. Demons as a whole, they’re a lot more powerful than you and though you can try, it’d be hard to get a hit in. I don’t want you to get hurt protecting me. Besides, I’ve been cloaked for years, they’re never going to find me. If they do, I’ll grab you and run.”
Diego patted his hair down with feigned annoyance before breathing into a smile that was just for her. "Me use product? Did I morph into Allison without knowing?"
"Hey I'm nothing if not a tryer. But yeah may nerd to brush up on how to fight supernatural beings and by brush up I mean learn from the beginning."

“Nice, thinking of being a teacher? Hell knows we could do with more lycanthrope teacher, to help teach young shifters that schools deem to dangerous to be in public schools.”
Running a hand through his hair he smiled at the young shifter. “Both big cats, apex predators. The Long Clan, the store I help run backs up on to several acres of woodlands. Perfect for letting loose and you’re more than welcome to come and stay for the full moon.”
He smiled.
“Yea. I’m hoping to be a teacher for English. I’ll need to get a degree in Education as well, but I’m working on the English degree first.”
He actually seemed excited now.
“I would love to spend the full moon with you and yours! Can I possibly have your number. I uh…I’m looking for a mentor and…if you’re willing. I think I would very much like for it to be you.”
"I'm sure if you crack that English degree, you'll sail straight through a degree I'm education."
Payne couldn't help, but smile at his enthusiasm for his education, for a love of life, its was almost infectious. "I don't think I've ever been a mentor, but I'll definitely guide you through it all as much as I can."
Standing outside the Long Claw waiting for Daniwl, Payne was dresses I'm grey joggers and vest so he could easily shift.

Sorry all its been a very long tiring shit week, that finished in a rather miserable and wet day at comic con yesterday. Two of the people I was going to see cancelled on the day, but below the cut you’ll see I still enjoyed myself with Diego’s family!
Angel of a Soldier
Jacob was still nursing his wounds from fighting the Deputy, he’d sent Lil to stay with Faith, not entirely safe, but far safer than staying at the Centre or spending her off to John. Faith had called to let him know Lily had left so it shouldn’t be long till she arrived here. As his wolf’s ears pricked up he knew she was close.
“Welcome back.” Though he really wanted to say welcome home.
@haunted-angel-multimuseblog
Lilly felt a little better with the reassuring touch that he was giving her, his words caused her to give him a soft small smile. “Thank you Jacob, I just can’t deal with being locked away, it brings memories that I don’t want to relive back into my mind.” She replied softly with a hint of a frown. “But I think I’ll feel better knowing you will be next door.”
"Can't promise I'll be around former, but I promise whenever you need me, I'll be there." He left unsaid that he'd do anything for her, take a bullets, die, he'd wolves go to Hell and back for her even if all he got in return was her companionship, because a young beautiful woman like Lily could never care for an old scarred veteran like him.

"So, Jacob," A vague gesture, boots placed on the nearest table as she sat, "Tell me about your office. We don't see this place much, do we?"
Jacob wasn’t happy to be called from his training. Standing behind his barely used desk, he glowered at the woman before him. “Feet off the table, show some respect.” His jaw bunched. “No one see’s much of it, I have better things to do than sit behind a desk in an office all day.”
She had information, but she was SURE it would merely raise more QUESTIONS than help solve the immediate problem. She watched as CRIMSON blood, copper in taste ( from personal experience ), ran down her knuckles, the palm of her hand, dripped onto the floor and began to POOL. One last splinter dislodged, tossed aside, another silent wince of ANGUISH.
Smart one, Bethany.
“I’ve been… with the Deputy a few times as a gun for hire.” ADMITTANCE of what she wanted to desperately hide, and she could GUESS Jacob would take her double agent stance as WEAKNESS. “I can get him, and I can get his trust more so than I have. Take a few outposts, which I can help you get back, and that bastard Eli? I’ll capture the fuck and bring him back, or stab him through his stupid FUCKING throat. Bite it out. The Deputy? I can force him here.”
Jacob was nothing if not prepared for most outcomes; he watched silently for a moment as blood dropped from her hand before he pulled open a dead on his desk and tossed a small first aid kit at the young woman. "You're bleeding on my floor." His voice should nothing of how he was grateful of her not kicking up a fuss, perhaps she was a wolf afterall and not one of the Herd like the rest of her men.
But that soon faded with her admittance of working with the Deputy. Jacob never truly let his anger show he prefered to let it simmer away and fuel him rather than control him. "Does you Boss know?" He knew if Joseph did his brother would want her dead, he would not stand for it. "Playing both sides is a dangerous game, dont mistake this for concern for you though, the Deputy must be brought to heel and if you some how manage till kill Eli you won't have the Deputy's trust for long. Joseph will punish mistake, he may send you to John so he can break you or perhaps to Faith to become one of her Angels."
*on the phone*
Person A: So I can’t make it tonight…
Person B: How come?
Person A: I may have been stabbed just now…
Person B: Only you would try to politely cancel plans while you’re bleeding out. Hold on I’ll call an ambulance.

Taking another sipping of beer, Payne nods, interested in what the other has to say. “What are you studying?” The werelion shakes his head. “Nothing wrong with staying there, but for the full moon or if you start feeling stressed at collect you need to come stay at one of the shifters safe houses, only so your family is safe. Till you’re used to shifting and have control of it.”
“Nothing wrong in asking, the longer you stay here though the easier you’ll find to identify by scent or even power. But I’m a werelion, Rex of King if you like of the local Pride.”
He’s blushing brightly now because he knows that what he’s studying isn’t exactly the greatest of paths. He’s not even really sure what he can do with it, except for teach.
“I’m studying English.”
He gave a mild shrug.
“Anyway, it seems you and I aren’t so different as far as our breed. Lion and Tiger, that is. Where do you spend the full moon. Perhaps I…could spend my first with you?”
"Nice, thinking of being a teacher? Hell knows we could do with more lycanthrope teacher, to help teach young shifters that schools deem to dangerous to be in public schools."

Lilly couldn’t help but smile from his words, she moved a little closer to him with a slight bounce in her step. “I’m glad that you find me that exciting for the whole of Hope County.” She teases with a wink but her face soon drops st the meantion of Eli being killed, she knew Eli and the Seed’s didn’t get along well at all but Lilly didn’t like the thought of anyone dying. She glances down to the floor, her mood seeming to shift. “Mhmm, Faith was fine…although can still feel tingles of the bliss but that’s normal..”
The plan had always been to stop Eli, but as it became clear that was never going to happen and that he had burrowed away so deeply in the mountain he couldn’t get to him, Jacob needed another way. Using the Deputy to accomplish that had seemed like the best way, but he had to admit now Eli was gone, he didn’t feel right. “Well, you won’t need to go there again, unless you want to.” He pushed away from the railing. “You want to head inside, get unpacked?”
“I’m just happy to be back home.” She said with a shrug of her shoulders, following Jacob inside and giving out a pleased sigh as the familiar smell hits her senses, and the welcoming feeling of being back home overcomes her. She adjusts her bag that was laying over her shoulder before turning to face Jacob again. “Am I still in the same room, or have you had anymore runaways?” She asked with a teasing smile.
“Its your room, I wouldn’t give it anyone else. Except the Wolf, maybe Joseph.” He smiled at her teasing, but he wouldn’t have allowed anyone in, it was hers, it smelt of her, her perfume. “Joseph believes the Collapse is coming quicker than he expected. But everything is in order.” With Eli gone, the Deputy had failed to train his bunker unlocked his brother John’s that was flooded and would take weeks to drain. “We can start getting things for your room in the bunker if you’d like that?”
She couldn’t help but smile from his words, liking the fact that no one had been in her room to mess with the belongings that she held dear too, which wasn’t a lot of things but they held a place in her heart. Her expression soon dropped from the mention of the collapse, she had heard talks of it but didnt expect it to come around so quickly, and the thought of being locked in a bunker wasn’t the highlight of her thoughts. “I guess so…will you be near in the bunker?” She asked softly, she wanted him to be close when everything was to happen but didn’t want to say it out loud.
Catching her expression Jacob tried to comfort her, playing his calloused, rough hands on her arms, thumbs rubbing soothing circles. "I'll be right next door Lilly, our rooms have ajoining doors, for if, well if you ever need to talk to me."

Maly didn’t answer, instead she let the tattoo appear back on her skin. Then she held up her left wrist so he could see her kangaroo tattoo before that also faded from her skin. The kangaroo appeared hopping across the table before turning into a plush as soon as it reached Maly’s outstretched hand. Show off.
Diego almost felt like a kid again. Klaus and Ben use to love watching the magic show on a saturday night, when they were old enough to sneak out. He was sure Klaus would still love it now. “You’re pretty amazing Maly.”
“Not amazing, just….gifted. Let’s just be lucky I choose to use my powers for good and not world domination.” She said, offering the plushies to him, though her fingers were running through the hair on them. Sort of a comfort thing, anything to ignore the fact that she could chaos walking if she ever fell on the wrong side.
“Lucky is one word for it, besides if you were evil, we wouldn’t be having the little sit down right now.” He looked at the plushies a small smile on his face, he wasn’t sure where he’d put them, but he would keep them. “Would you ever go rogue? Use your powers for evil?” He asked a hit of concern on his voice.
“No.” She said firmly, without hesitation. “I walked away from it. I could never get with hurting innocent people. Never sat right with me. But that only got worse after Auschwitz. “Can I kiss you?” Maly said in a soft whisper, her dark brown eyes flicking up to look at Jacob’s blue. They were so close, they were up high, and away from everything. No one would see them. She had been thinking about it a lot, especially during sermons when she just couldn’t focus. She felt so safe with Jacob, he kept her secret, dangerous as it was for him.
Jacob was taken aback, though he didn’t show it. Sat up on the mountain you could almost forgot there was a fight for survival happening below. He would always protect Maly, even if it meant protecting her from his brothers. Turning his head to face her, he nodded. “I’d like that Maly.” Though he himself wasn’t sure she really wanted to. Leaning in he brushed his lips against her, his hands at his side leaving her Space to pull away if that was what she wanted.
Maly met him halfway and pressed her lips against his. She had seen how this would work from the movies when she was younger and spent ages imagining what her first kiss would be like. She was glad it was with him. She pulled away after a couple moments, making the kiss chaste as she tried to figure out if he had liked it. He hadn’t pushed her away or told her to go. Though, for a gruff man, he also had rather soft lips that she just wanted to keep kissing.
As Maly pulled away, Jacob wanted nothing more than to pull her firmly against him, kiss her, show her just how much he had wanted this, but never believed he would have her. Jacob wasn’t a man of words when it came to emotions preferring his action to do the taking, but Maly deserved better. “You have no idea how long I have wanted that. Wanted you.” His words for once were soft, though he could barely look her in the eye as he said it, fearing she would back away.
“I could probably guess.” She also said softly. “I take it you wouldn’t be opposed to more?” She asked, with a hopeful raise of her eyebrow as she reached for his hands. More was a loose definition, it promised plenty but nothing specific. That was what she wanted. She just wanted him, she could deal with the rest later. “I’ve wanted you for a long time, and thought some ….impure things.” She admitted, blushing. She believed the confession would put him at ease, knowing that they were thinking along similar lines here.
Impure things, like his purebred thoughts, Joseph would be disappointed to know that either of them and been thinking such sinful things. Letting her take in if his rough calloused hands in her soft and delicate one, the other he brought up to pushing back her flowing looks before cupping the back of her neck. "You are the most beautiful person that has ever graced my pitful life. And I never thought for a moment you would want me Maly." It had to be the soppiest shit he had said in a long time and red spread up his face before he had it by kissing Maly once more.
A small turn of the head, barely registrable, as eyes looked to her black boots. Surprisingly clean given the pirate’s rather messy reputation. But alas, she refused to move her feet. Always one to annoy.
Hands extend to either side of her body, half mimicking a cross, “Calm down, mate. Christ. You’d think I asked you to suck a dick or something. I need you to look over our paperwork, air grievances, and then sign it off. Unless your personal issues with the situation are going to prevent that?”
Breathing deeply Jacob resisted the urge to throw the woman out. Most times he could dealing with her, but not today. “In case it escaped your noticed we have a few issues here. I don’t have time for paperwork. The only grievance I have is you wasting my time and the fact we’re missing a case of M19’s so either you’re screwing us over or some how the pathetic little resistence Eli has got going has managed to steal one.”
As soon as the mention of missing cases came up, her entire demeanour shifted. No longer was she joking, carefree, but rather now she was serious, tense, and intense. “Woah, Woah, stop right there, mate. What the fuck did you just say? A missing case?”
Her tone serious, she threw her boots from the table and swiftly stood all in one motion, swiping up her clipboard and papers that were for Jacob to sign off– he wouldn’t do that yet. “When the fuck did that come in? How long ago? I’m going to tear them apart with my bare fuckin’ teeth!”
Depending on Jacob’s words, she was going to react violently and aggressively to the news.
“Are you hard of fucking hearing? Yesa missing case, if its not Eli, then it might be that Deputy; Joseph is trying with. Thinks the Deputy is gonna be part of the fairly.” The red head grunted.
“It happened about five minutes before you came in. Calvin says the the case never arrived at the armoury, so either you never loaded it or your driver is more stupid than he looks.”
Hard of fucking hearing. Did Jacob REALLY just insult an already irritated pirate? Yes. Yes he did. Not wise, but the likelihood of her winning fairly against ex-army was slim. Key word being FAIRLY.
Squinting, body tense, she marched to the nearest wall and landed a rather hefty punch to it. A full on hole was made through it from the force, but nothing necessarily too obstructive. Silence as she drew her hand back and flexed her fingers, making sure they weren’t necessarily broken.
“Jacob, I’ll propose this once. This doesn’t reach my boss, and I’ll do much of anything. I’ll get it sorted, or I’ll try to, and anything you need done or something? I’m there.” Turning, her fingers flexed again, moving to pick splinters that may have lodged themselves. “So?”
Pulling his combat knife from his waist belt, he picked at his nails moving to the window watching the family training in the yard.
"I'm not about to turn down help in capturing the Deputy or killing Eli, but we've been trying for months," He was sure one or the other had it. "But what makes you so sure that you'll be able to get nearly either, when Eden's Gate hasn't even got close?"
