@ all yall doing the ‘use x character as a symbol of hong kong protests so china will ban it’ thing i really hate to burst yalls bubble but even if people do manage to popularize something like that to the point where the chinese government actually notices, like…. thats not gonna do anything.

the chinese government didnt ban winnie the pooh. theres a disney theme park there with winnie the pooh. they banned people using winnie the pooh to make fun of their leader, since people on the internet compared their appearances. there are chinese websites that you can go on and buy winnie the pooh stuff right now.

im not saying anyone should stop making edits/posters/art/etc using pop culture characters, do whatever, but please stop spreading misinformation. also just do more research on the hong kong protests in general bc whats going on is probably not what you think is going on.
