he! smells! like! strawberries!
Look at you strawberry cow!! You make me go wow!! :D
So I stumbled through the Barbie aisle at Walmart the other day…
…and y'all, I almost cried. Just look at these. LOOK AT THEM.
So many skin tones!
PLUS SIZED BODY TYPES!
NATURAL HAIR STYLES!!! MULTIPLE SHADES OF DARK SKIN!!!
A WOMAN AS A DOCTOR!!!!!
I’M NOT DONE, THERE IS A PHOTO LIMIT!
LOOK AT THIS PROFESSIONAL LADY!
SO MANY SKIN TONES AND BODY TYPES AND LOOK AT THAT MERMAN!!!
FRECKLES!!!
Y'all, I’m just…so so happy.
I’m 35 years old and I’ve never seen a Barbie that looked like me, and then there I am as a Barbie in a purple sweater with thick thighs and evenly proportioned boobs and pink hair and a cat.
I can only imagine how other girls must feel.
Nicely done, Mattel. Nicely done!
Mattel also just announced some new Barbie dolls who have wheelchairs or prosthetic limbs!!!
Like screw anything calling this “politically correct,” this is what the real world literally is. And the world’s population of children is just as diverse as its adults. Kids deserve to see themselves represented. As a disabled person myself, I can’t tell you how much this would have meant to me as a little girl.
BRO HAVE Y’ALL SEEN THE NEWLY RELEASED ONES
IM SOBBING
YES YES YES THIS IS PERFECT!!!
I only ever saw the one disabled Barbie but their is at least two! And look a ramp!
the OP was made a year ago so for fun I went to check what they’re new dolls were
Guys… Even being confident there would be even MORE added to the barbie range of dolls…. I was not prepared.
I am about to image spam you so forgive but there’s just SO MUCH
holy shit. I’m like… not even a doll person and so many of these I want!
There’s LITERALLY too many to add
(who is she?)
Plus sized Barbie with DIMPLES
They actually have a barbie with albinism and bothered to give her a proper face-sculpt!
This one looks like she could kill me instantly if she made direct eye-contact
This one’s smile is just KILLING me
Nubian girl because we’re not messing around
Also… this doll does not have any name on the product listing nor on the packaging so this might just be me but…. help me out here guys… is this.. ….is this a non-binary barbie? Am I presuming too much or is that what I’m looking at here??
Also final note. Just to REALLY drill this all home, Barbie has some photos of kids playing with the dolls and
Ironically, Barbie did not come to play around.
Also I’m obsessed with this Sally Ride doll
Barbie never played around, barbie played for keeps, why do you think she works so hard in so many fields?
if any of y’all think this is overkill:
i babysat the sweetest little girl who was in a hot pink wheelchair. it was almost brand new, and she was just so excited to finally have a good wheelchair!! the day i walked into the house after she’d gotten it, she wheeled over to me with the biggest smile and said “it doesn’t hurt my back anymore!!”
for her birthday, i got her a barbie doll who looked a lot like her (it was the one with vitiligo) and a little barbie wheelchair and a few other accessories because who doesn’t like accessories?
apparently she’d had a white doll for a while and of course loved her doll but when she saw not only the one with vitiligo but also the wheelchair? and she put that little doll into the wheelchair and pushed her around a bit on the table? she looked up at me and burst into tears, grinning from ear to ear, and murmured to me “she’s like me. i didn’t know there were ones like me” and lemme tell you i nearly broke down right then and there and i gave her the warmest smile and hug i could muster up and her parents called me a few months later (i’d stopped babysitting because they didn’t have money to pay and wouldn’t allow me to babysit for little/free like i offered because i knew they both were searching for jobs and couldn’t be around their kid much bc interviews) and they just thanked me, their daughter was “so happy to have a doll like her that she carried the barbie around with her all the time”. they hadn’t been able to afford the doll and were actually saving up for a wheelchair at least.
this isn’t overkill.
this is giving kids a doll like themself. this is showing them that they aren’t weird or irregular or not normal. this is showing kids that others who are different from them, others who do have a prosthetic or a wheelchair or dark skin or vitiligo, that those kids aren’t weird. if a little girl sees a barbie in a wheelchair, she’ll just think “oh that’s my friend!!” and be exposed to the fact that these “different” kids are kids too, friends and acquaintances and not people to be mocked or bullied.
Trigger warning ⚠️ suicide ⚠️
With Hamilton out now on Disney+ I’ve noticed something intresting about the show. Yes the show is incredible and I love it a lot, but I’m not here to talk about that. I want to talk about a theory that I’ve picked up after watching it. What if the duel between Ham/Burr was intentional. What if Hamilton used the duel as a way to commit suicide? Take a read if you’re interested in my thoughts on this
(This is all strictly about the musical not anything historical)
Even though the first “diagnosed” person with depression was a hundred years later, doesn’t mean he couldn’t have had depression. I note this because he’s not the most happy character. He worries about showing too much emotion in the beginning of the show (making friends), then over the course of the show becomes even more depressed as time went on. Not to mention his suicidal tendencies. In Hurricane, he stated “I couldn’t seem to die.” Twice at 12 and 17. When he was a soldier he blatantly said to washingdad “I’m more than willing to die.” In meet me inside. I believe his breaking point was when Phillip died. His relationships were in shambles, his job was falling apart since Washingdad left, and with the (undiagnosed but clear) depression it would’ve been easy for him to say welp this is it. Now why would he elaborate such a scheme to off himself? Why wouldn’t he just put his own pistol to his head? To protect the one and only thing he cared about most at the end of his life: His legacy. What would people remember more-that, or maybe a glorious duel where he wouldn’t even take the blame for. He would’ve had to choose a time between Phillip dying and the night before choosing burr to make his strategy.
Now for this to work, he would’ve had to succeed in his relationship with Burr, get him angry enough to duel, and to make sure he shot him. Well he did. And here’s how:
Over the course of his life/the show we’ve seen Burr change as a person. Growing from the shy, “talk less smile more” kid we met in the beginning to openly campaigning Burr near the course of the end. I’m not saying Hamilton thought about this when they first met, definitely not, but Hamilton was one of the greatest minds of his generation and he of course noticed his confidence growing. With that and their rocky relationship he would be the perfect candidate. He just needed him to get so angry that they would have to duel. Which is why he dangled the presidency like a carrot on a string above his head, and quickly took it away. He even instigated for a duel during their letters in obedient servant, therefore guaranteeing it.
Burr was all set, then came Eliza. She was interesting but overall not the hardest part of this plan. Suicidal people have a tendency to act like everything is okay when they aren’t. It’s used to not worry the people around them and to see if they would be okay without them. He saw how Eliza did without him after the Reynolds pamphlet and even after Philip died. And to act like things were back to normal, he still wrote the night before the duel even though Eliza was asking him to come back. Not going would be in character for him (aka not going to the summer house) but if he did go back to spend that one last night with her, she would’ve suspected something was wrong.
Now to make sure Burr would shoot him. He had motive, intention, and reason to win (his daughter), but he needed one last thing. This question was posed in the musical and is what sparked this theory to begin with. “They won’t teach you this in your classes, but look it up, Hamilton was wearing his glasses. Why?” Why indeed. Why would Alexander have a reason to wear his glasses during this duel without the intention of shooting him? Unless it was to make sure Burr did. As stated before Hamilton is a very smart man who would’ve known there was a chance of Burr not aiming for him because of their past and who he is. But by wearing them there would’ve been no hesitation from Burr because the intention of the glasses was to make it look like Hamilton would want to win.
Now that he went out heroically. His legacy was safe. Even protected by Eliza and Angelica. My final thoughts are as follows. An extremely intelligent man successfully finished his plan to end it without suspicion. But like Eliza, I do wonder what America would be like if he lived. What he would’ve done. But I shouldn’t be the one who tells his story. This is just a theory, A MUSICAL theory.

I don’t like to get serious like this. But something needs to be said. You’ve all probably heard about George Floyd. An innocent man is dead because of police brutality and racism. Let me say it again: an INNOCENT MAN is DEAD because of POLICE BRUTALITY and RACISM! Only after protest after protest they finally charge the murderer. With third degree... THAT MAN DID NOT KNEEL ON HIS NECK FOR EIGHT MINUTES “ACCIDENTALLY” What he did was out of protocol. And worst of all no one came to rescue him. None of the other police officers stopped him.
I am horrified. I am scared. I am angry.
Let me be clear: I am white. I have never underwent what the black community have gone through with racial discrimination. But I will never fall silent. I swear to use my privelige to change the world for the better.
I hear you. I see you.
