Obama Pro-Choice vs. Romney Pro-Life

I came across this add while on a different website. It was a pop up add on the side of the screen. This add was created after the 2012 election so clearly this demonstrates a Republican point of view of pro life. This is someone's opinion claiming that President Obama "won't defend the unborn." Therefore this is different than any other factual data based platform. The person who created this add is probably just a Republican citizen trying to get a point across to eventually overturn the Roe V. Wade case. The Roe V. Wade case established abortion rights and if Romney were elected, we was going to attempt to reverse this Supreme Court ruling.

A social agenda has been laid out in recent GOP legislation and allowing hospitals to refuse a woman an abortion and making it impossible for victims of rape and incest to receive abortions unless their assault meets the definition of "forcible rape."  

This article is reporting the fact that an agenda about abortion has been laid out, but it is obviously biased.  The writer is against recent GOP legislation, using phrases like 'retrograde social agenda', 'a full-scale assault on fundamental American rights', 'narrow definition of "forcible rape" and 'when they weren't trying to force women to birth babies for rapists...'

This platform is factually based but readers should be aware of  the author's bias against GOP.

In the Ansirh Blog created by UCSF, author for this article, Carole Joffe writes about what has lead to President Barack Obama's win and statistics that show how many of the voters were pro choice. Obama has officially won the 2012 election, therefore is able to complete his second term. Due to this, citizens are relieved that Roe V. Wade will stay in tact. The Obama campaign accused some Republicans of waging a "war on women," due to their want to overturn Roe V. Wade. Joffe also goes into what might occur with abortion in Obama's second term. Joffe concludes that although the result of this election is positive for women and their abortion rights, women who seek abortion services will still face many issues in large parts of the United States such as these so called "Republican states." 

Although this is an article, it is still a blog which may contain fact, but is mostly opinion depending on how it is written. Joffe does contain facts with links to the original sources, which is good, however it is still a non-factual based platform. This can get confusing for readers because they can assume that the way that it is organized can look like an article, and be mistaken by pure facts. Readers can be fed information, assuming it is fact when it is not. Since it is indeed a blog, it becomes non-traditional media.

This article was found on the New York Times website. This article merely explains how Romney changed his views on Pro-Life over the years. He was once a supporter of Pro-Choice, but upon his run for presidency, his position on the matter changed.

This person is clearly a conservative with the Twitter username "Conservogirl." She has no evidence that Obama "promotes killing babies," which shows that this platform is not factual, and is solely opinion based. We could tell that she would definitely be one to vote for Mitt Romney. She is publicly sharing her opinion, influence others on false or non-factual information. This should not be a reliant source.

This article is from Essence, a fashion magazine for African-American women.

Obama's health care law mandates that insurers must now cover contraception without copays, while Romney would repeal so-called Obamacare.

This article neutrally explains both candidates' policies, but it supports Obama's policy.  It is because this magazine is aimed for African-American women, whose rate of out-of-wedlock birth is high.  It says 'For Black women birth control can mean the difference between poverty and accessing the American dream.  The President's reproductive rights record is as encouraging as Romney's is troubling.'

This platform is factually based.  This magazine differs from others because it has a smaller community in mind.

President Barack Obama was booed and harassed before his speech in Ohio by anti-abortion protestors. Due to his beliefs of pro choice, Obama was faced by angry Republican citizens that did not want him to win for this specific reason. This newspaper is factual and contains evidence. We can tell from this article that whoever wins, whether it be Obama or Romney, a large portion of the country will be extremely disappointed.

The source is a magazine, marie claire. It says that if Obama wins this 2012 election, women's access to birth control would grow since everyone must be insured under Obamacare by 2014. If Romney wins, Obamacare would be repealed and he would get rid of Planned Parenthood. The article stands in a neutral position, presenting the policies of both Obama and Romney.  It also makes it easier for the readers to understand their policies by showing what would happen if the candidates win the election.  This is a fashion magazine, so the article is short and precise, while news papers deal the same content longer and more in detail.  This platform is factual based, which is different from non-traditional media such as blogs or Twitter where people express their opinion.

This is a online video and story which Obama made after Romney's release of his commercial he made trying to soften up his position on abortion. But Obama made this to show who the real  Romney is basically. This video is not very long and gets to the point an can be accessed from youtube.

This platform is factual based but should not be looked as a reliable source its only giving information for you and your opinion. This video is understood to be popular press because it is a popular way that people get there information and it differs from other platforms because it is a video.

In this article Obama is saying that Gov. Romney wants to eliminate funding to Planned Parenthood. And Romney is saying that he wants it defunded but he still feels every women in America should have access to contraceptives.

This platform is factually based. But in this article on NPR it is targeted towards women so that Romney can get more women votes to catch up the gender gap.

Upon the 2012 presidential election, Romney states that he is pro-life, but he also believes that there are certain instances were abortion would be acceptable. His "fuzzy" stance may confuse some because it's such a controversial topic that is considered while at the voting polls. Unlike a daily printed news paper, this online version provides more color and offers additional information regarding the article with hyperlinks so one can narrow his/her search. Being that this is an online article, it also makes available the option to comment on the article, whereas a daily or weekly news paper this is not possible. This platform delivers a factual based information that is reliable just as any other news paper, but it is quick and easy.
