NYX was the goddess of the night, one of the primordial gods (protogenoi) who emerged as the dawn of creation.

In ancient art Nyx was depicted as a either a winged goddess or charioteer, sometimes crowned with an aureole of dark mists. As the goddess of night, Nyx held dominion over the shadowy realms and everything that occurred under her dark veil. She was known to govern dreams, prophecies, and the passage of time during the night.
