I say this gently because I was the same a good few years ago: if you tell a disordered person trying to look on the bright side that they should be miserable 24/7 in order to gain basic consideration and respect, or in order to just be seen as real, you have a little bit of work to do when it comes to being an ally to people living with disorders.

This track plays when Luke saves Clementine and later when he kicks off after thinking she’s bitten. Pete’s also in the scene, but Luke is around longer so I attribute it to him more.
a little nitpick I've always had whenever reading or watching any kind of media is how a character who is in pain (physical, emotional and/or mental) will treat other characters
most of the time, I see them smile the pain away, and they seem to act as a strong anchor when the others are going through the wringer. they are portrayed in a way that's almost like a saint
but as nice as that may be, that's. unrealistic.
usually, whenever someone is in pain, they will lash out. they will dig their nails into the skin of the person closest at the moment, and let it sink deep until they are bleeding with them. and even until then, they still may not let go.
that's a more poetic way to put it.
what I mean is that those characters will not always be beaming sunshine or giving gentle, encouraging advice. sometimes, they will be sulky and will snap at you at any given moment. they become irritable and easy to irritate, and it is more difficult to give them sympathy. but they shouldn't be condemned for being angry with something that is completely out of control
i'm not saying those kinds of characters should be written as long-suffering and grumpy. they indeed can be kind as well. it's just takes more effort to impart due to the toll that said pain takes on them.
in fact, I think it's important that, if it's true to their character, to let them be kind in the bouts of the pain. there's something quite magnificent in a kindness a hurting individual will give you compared to a well-off one
just remember, that's not all they are
