clarke and bellamy being so much of a team that she doesn’t put his name on the list until the very end because where one goes the other follows and so considering bellamy as separate of herself doesn’t occur to her until the end .  and then if i’m on that list , you’re on that list and clarke truly would never have put herself on it but if one of them was going to survive ,  it should have been bellamy and she didn’t believe that she should get to survive ,  but bellamy did deserve to .  even if it had to be separate from her .

the fact that clarke went from being in solitary for over a year to trying to survive on the ground and was still somewhat functional was kind of a miracle .  the level of panic that her body and mind functioned at is honestly fairly impressive if you consider how absolutely jarred her system must have been .

           SHE’S SO FUCKING SICK OF HAVING TO BEG PEOPLE TO LET HER TAKE CARE OF THEM .  on the ark ,  the role of doctor is clear and well defined .  the line into the med bay was efficiently organized and patients never argued about treatment .  few down here trust her the way the people of the ark trusted her mother .  maybe she was the closest thing the ark had to a princess ,  but down here she’s the closest thing they have to a doctor .  clarke forces herself to bite down her response to his sarcastic question ,  that the things she witnessed in surgery would make his pain right now look like child’s play .  “  sit down and shut up ,  bellamy .  when that gets infected ,  and it will ,  you’ll be entirely useless to us .  i need to close it and wrap it properly to keep it clean .  unless you’re looking to use this as an out ?  ”  her signature brow raise asks him to argue with her .  she needs him ,  but he needs her too .  where bellamy is all heat ,  clarke is a steady cool .  she would never admit it out loud ,  but between the two of them they bring a good balance .

            HER DESK IN THE WRECKED ARK IS CLUTTERED AND IN DISARY .  clarke is ashamed that it takes her longer than a second to replay raven’s words in her mind and look up from the paper she’d been reviewing .  azure eyes narrow at her friend ,  one brow raising and her lips parting with displeasure .  “  raven ,  ”  clarke’s tone is a tad forceful ,  it’s the voice she uses when she needs people to do what she says ,  “  i would never let anyone else talk about you that way ,  what makes you think you’re allowed to ?  ”  though she doesn’t see it often ,  clarke is not entirely unaware of raven’s feelings of inadequacy ,  remembering during their drop ship days when clarke promised to choose her first .

clarke is such an easy character to vilify ,  but in doing so you’re also taking the easy way out AND essentially agreeing with clarke’s stance on things .  i bear it so they don’t have to .  she bears it so your favorite characters don’t have to .  and that’s okay ,  you can like and dislike who you like and dislike ,  but to put all of the faults of the others onto clarke ,  you’re basically proving her point .  she does bear it all .  she bears it when she doesn’t want others to have to and she bears it when others hand her their demons and she bears it when someone calls her a murderer ( well okay ,  i’ll keep killing for you then  )  or tells her to do her job  (  well okay ,  my job is making the ugly ,  heinous calls so i’ll keep doing that ) .  if you want me to be the bad guy ,  i’ll be the bad guy .  it may have been the first time she’d said the words out loud ,  but she’s been acting them out for so long before that .  i bear it so they don’t have to ,  i’ll be the bad guy so they don’t have to be .  i tried to be the good guy ,  i tried .  how anyone can judge her for walking away after that ,  i’ll never understand .  how does a teenage girl say these words ,  essentially admit to her mother that she is no longer GOOD ,  and get crucified for no longer being able to bear her own BADNESS .  there is such a lack of empathy in regards to clarke ,  probably because she’s a woman but now isn’t the time to get into that ,  because yeah ,  she’s an easy target .  it is easy to look at her actions through a black and white lens and to come to the conclusion that in a world where things can only be good or bad ,  she must be BAD and not GOOD .  but if you look at her through that lens then all characters must also be looked at through it .  and if they were as well ,  they also would be deemed BAD .  but somehow along the way ,  everyone else’s BADNESS was given a pass due to their also having GOODNESS in them ,  but clarke is never extended that benefit of the doubt .
