i think ai generated videos being spread around as authentic footage is unequivocally a bad thing and i have been pretty upfront about the fact that i see misinformation as the single most significant downside of genai. but i will say that one small benefit to it is the fact that a lot more people are starting to realize that "wait, is what i'm seeing real?" is a question you already should have been asking yourself about pretty much any kind of video you see
