“Excuse me,” she says softly to the man sitting at the bar. Alice has a bruise dressed along her cheekbone--a product of escaping the ASYLUM. She pulls a case file from her jacket ( one she had stolen off a biker ) and opens the manila folder to reveal a picture of an ex-orderly with dusty blonde hair and beady green eyes. “Seen this man around here before?”
He slipped out from under the cot when he was aware that their company had left them alone. Rabbit had no interest at all in knowing these people, even if he did want to have one of their coats. He didn’t like the word lobotomy, though for the life of him he couldn’t quite figure out what the word meant. All he could think of was Beth’s stern screaming: off with his head!
Seeing her spit out the pills was slightly pleasant, knowing that as long as she was okay, so he would be as well. She’d be less likely to agree with his plan if she were to be taking those pills. Poison. He is certain that they’re poison.
“We have to leave, Alice. I don’t like it here, and I know that you can’t. How do we leave? You don’t belong here in the world of whiteness and poison.”
ALICE stares at the door between a long pause. Her brow furls together. Her plump lips are left slightly agape. “We need to get out of here.” The words barely brush past her lips. ( IT SHALL BE A PERMANENT FALL DOWN THE ‘RABBIT HOLE’ IF YOU STAY FOR THE LOBOTOMY, DEAR ALIIIIIICE. ) She swallows soundly.
“There’s guards... Guards scattered about the corridors. It’ll be nearly impossible to escape,” she murmurs. Her expression hardens. “But there’s no use in giving up. It’s worth a shot.” She turns to Rabbit quickly. The cogs in her mind are grinding now. ( PROGRESS, ALICE! PROGRESS! ) “Rabbit. Do you have anything sharp on you? Or anything with metal?” She stops mid-step towards him, eyes darting to his shirt. “...Do you have your pocket watch?”

Alice laid on the couch, trembling fingers laced over her stomach. She did her best to hold back the tears, but instead, sniffles and choked sobs made it through slightly pursed lips. Tears laced her eyes. Her cheeks were reddening. She took a quivering exhale in before forcing her words from her mouth.
“I just want to be normal again. I want my sanity back.”

Alice furrowed her brow before pinching the bridge of her nose. She reclined in her chair, shoulders hunched, back curved.
“What do you want, you miserable cat? To tempt me? To tease me? I’ve had quite enough of it, you know. I’m not in the mood.”

the orderly fetched the small pills, turning around to face the girl again. ‘ it’s that these won’t make you to feel any better right away, alice. it’s just how it is. you give up too goddamn easily. please. ‘
“ g i v e u p? ”
She genuinely looked hurt for a moment. She looked up at him with a furrowed brow and doe eyes. “I didn’t give up for all those years when I was tormented by my kidnapper. You think that’s what I do? Give up too easily? I know when s h i t like this works or not,” she hissed, gesturing wildly to the pills.
“It only numbs the pain,” she adds more quietly. “I have to deal with it. And relying on pills to fog the visions of Wonderland are not the road to my recovery. So, you can tell Doctor Chester that he can take the pills...” She gently reached out for his palm that held the pills. She tenderly closed his hand and flashed her hues up to the orderly.
“...And shove them up his ass.”

if anyone found out he’d LOSE IS JOB. he wouldn’t risk that, no way; it was literally all he had. all he fucking lived for. david frowned, crouching down to alice’s level and giving her a small shrug of his shoulders before looking back to where the PILLS had landed. watching them idly for a moment. the small plastic cup filled with water still in the orderly’s grip.
‘ i –– i don’t know, man. can’t you.. just take them as a repay for those WALKS we’ve been having these last three days? you promised me, c’mon. ‘
“ARRRRGH!”
Alice let out a tremendous roar that didn’t fit her countenance at all. T h i s was one of her irritable, acerbic mood swings. The first day without taking pills was fine and dandy, but the more she spit them out or hid them under her tongue, the more mad she grew. It was a cycle.
“Do you have any idea how hopeless it is taking those things? HUH? They won’t make me better. They only dull my brain.” She sprang up, blood shot eyes seething down at him. “You don’t KNOW my pain in here. I’ll be trapped here forever and those pills is what are keeping me here!”
the smallest, resigned SIGH escaped the orderly’s lips as alice threw away the small pills across the room. for god’s sake–– he understood her, he’d BEEN there, but her behaviour towards him started to somewhat irritate the man. couldn’t she just cooperate? he wanted to go home.
‘ c’mon alice, i’m not the one deciding this. ‘
Alice’s mind was decaying. Wonderland was becoming stronger. She didn’t want to adhere to the laws of the real world and the figments of her fantasy land. The poor girl simply couldn’t win! She began to slightly twitch, fingers bouncing lightly as she backed herself into a corner. The girl was shaking now, glaring up at him through a hooded, hostile gaze.
“Then tell them I t-t-took them.”

“Lie down. Sit somewhere, you need to rest.”
“I’ll get the ice.”
