I just can't get over how much sex ed is lacking in adults
For example, HPV causes penial, vaginal, anal, and oral cancers, not just vaginal, so men should be getting paps too.
Paps can be self collected, you do not have to get it done by a doctor if you're not comfortable with it (depending on your area though you'll have to request self collection because despite the US knowing this for decades they still insist upon clinician collected samples, and if your doctor refuses, then refuse the exam because that's just pred*tory at that point)
Men need to wipe after they pee, just the same as women. If you're a man and don't believe this, take some azo and check your undies.
Men need to sit to pee, the splatter can reach SEVERAL feet. If you don't believe this, again take azo.
Men need to pee after sex/masterbating, just the same as women.
Everyone needs to be washing their hands (under the nails too) before and after touching your own or anyone else's private parts. Do NOT touch anything between washing your hands and touching anyone's genitals.
Everyone needs to be cleaning their sex toys before and after each use. With sex toy cleaner, never use soap and water or chemical cleaners - this can cause uti's and yeast infections. For men specifically, just because you clean your toys with soap and water and have no symptoms does NOT mean it's okay, men are often asymptomatic and therefore don't know they have an infection and pass it along to their partners.
At this men should be getting checked REGULARLY for yeast infections and std/i's. Men are often asymptomatic which is precisely why they should be getting checked regularly, honestly more frequently than women, because this leads to men passing this to their partners and as a man if you have prolonged infections, you are at risk of infertility and complications.
If you have a yeast infection, uti, bv, or sti, do not sleep with your partner again until they're treated as well. This is especially common in women who sleep with men as when women get bv or yeast infections no one thinks to treat the man as well, but studies have shown the male partner needs treated as well or the female will have recurring infections.
Wash your genitals before and after penetration. For both partners, this prevents uti's. For the partner being penetrated this also helps protect you from yeast infections and bv. I've heard many women complain of recurring yeast infections and bv just to find their male partners were not maintaining proper hygiene down there.
Do NOT stay in wet or sweaty clothes, this is asking for a yeast infection, change into clean and dry clothes as soon as possible.
Wear breathable fabrics and avoid thongs, this reduces risk of yeast infections and bv.
