Nancy📱 Robin
Robin: No! No, I don't, I'm not ready to face the possibility of rejection, it would destroy me and all my dreams.
Robin: She's very sweet, she's so nice too, like she really made me feel good when we were together. And she held my hand! Like, we actually held hands and it was incredible. I thought about not washing my hand ever again but then I thought that would be very unhygienic. And weird.
Robin: Oh no, that's a big no. We're not talking about possible still lingering feelings at all. Don't go down that rabbit hole again, Nancy, you'll just get hurt.
nancy: you guys held hands. you're pratically dating.
nancy: and you're really saying you're not convinced that she isnt into you? rob i love you but you're blind.
nancy: hey no roads going down here. that door was shut seven years ago.

Daisy: He thinks he's something else alright. What a looser.
Daisy: I got a free drink out of it and I'm not complaining but, fuck him.
Daisy: You know I did ;)
nancy: i mean free drinks are always nice.
nancy: im honestly starting to regret moving back. shits going sideways and i was honestly just supposed to come back to help my family out.
steve 📞→ nancy
steve: the line went silent for a while. he almost wondered if this signaled the end of... well, whatever this was. "nancy?" he asked tentatively. he could've sworn he heard a sniffle shortly after. he sighed, leaning back in his chair. "... what would barb want you to do?" he asked, hoping that by asking that, he might avoid some platitude that would do nothing to solve this.
nancy: nancy sighed as she rubbed her eyes. the question was a valid one and yet she didnt fully know the answer to it. That was a lie, yes she did. "she would want me to figure out what the hell was going on." taking a breath she shook her head fully knowing that he couldn't see her. "i don't know. i feel like something is going on, something that....isnt right. first will and now barb?" looking around at the cars passing her on the road she chewed on her lip. "people don't just vanish into thin air. especially not in hawkins."

Daisy: Good! I'll help you burry the body.
Daisy: The eye rolls are real!
nancy: like who the hell does he think he is honestly.
nancy: did you at least shoot him down amazingly
steve 📞→ nancy
steve: he pursed his lips but it was hard to fight a smile. he couldn't remember the last time he'd heard her laugh... boston. definitely boston. "like i said... i wanted to check on you," he shrugged, pushing himself away from his desk and turning to look out the window in his office. downtown hawkins was a little less crowded today, a little more subdued. "look, i know i was an ass the other day. and... i'm sorry. sometimes i open my mouth and my foot goes right in." normally he wouldn't bother apologizing for his attitude but it was nancy. he could be pissed at her but he'd still end up apologizing whether it was his fault or not. "i didn't need to be a dick about things. i guess i was just surprised to see you."
nancy: she understood that. looking out the window she stayed silent for a bit as she tried to figure out how to focus her thoughts. Instead all that came out were tears. "steve...i dont know what to do right now."
Nancy📱 Robin
Robin: I can't Nancy! I mean, how do I even say it?
Robin: I can't even form proper phrase when I'm around her. I'm a failure.
Robin: What if she doesn't feel the same way? I don't even know if she's gay, as far as I know, she was just being nice because she felt sorry for me, for how awkward and weird I was.
Robin: Let's hope not or I'll kick your ass. You don't need that drama in your life again.
nancy: do you need me to step in? im a great wing woman when i need to be.
nancy: shes sweet, and it seems like she likes you too.
nancy: its been seven years. even if i did still have feelings, its not like it would work out.

Nancy📱 Robin
Robin: I mean, she came to the arcade and I sort of freaked out internally. We played some games together, we had fun. It's a bit of a blur, I'm still wondering if it wasn't all a dream.
Robin: Hey I'm just making sure you didn't have a temporary moment of insanity, looking out for you here.
nancy: rob, i say this out of love ok
nancy: MAN THE FUCK UP
nancy: tell her how you feel okay
nancy: yeah, that moment is not gonna happen again. trust me.
steve 📞→ nancy
steve: that was... surprising. at least she hadn't told him to fuck off yet. "yeah, well, you know me," he shrugged, rubbing his temple. "i'm shit at getting anything removed from my phone. pretty sure i have a lot of old numbers that don't even belong to the same people anymore." it was a little embarrassing but he just wasn't good with his phone. computers and spreadsheets? sure. how to remove that annoying app that sent him ten plus notifications a day about subscribing to an all-inclusive membership? nada. nancy used to take care of that.
nancy: she let out a soft laugh at his comment. he was always so inept with anything electronic and it was kind of comical. dustin was always giving him shit and calling him a grandpa, but in a loving way. nancy inhaled as she closed her eyes, trying to stop what she was feeling from coming to the surface. the last thing she needed was to deal with everything that was going on with him AND deal with the issue with barb. "steve i appreciate you calling, but why?"
steve 📞→ nancy
steve: her reaction was about as civil as he could ask for. he'd expected a hang up, or maybe to be yelled at. he likely would've deserved it. "no, no, just... wanted to say that," he mumbled, closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose. "see if you were okay." obviously she wasn't. he didn't need to hear her short tone with him to know that. her friend was missing. nothing was okay about that. "sorry to bother you."
nancy: steve knew how close she had been to barb. he knew that friendship well. he was just never close with her. the only reason they interacted was because of nancy. so it was something that steve actually reached out. "i-i appreciate it." she said quietly. and honestly she did. "im surprised you still have my number."
steve 📞→ nancy
steve: hearing her voice nearly made him swallow his tongue. so much for a wrong number. "... hey," he answered thickly, then cleared his throat. "it's- it's steve." he reached up to rub the back of his neck. "sorry. i wasn't even sure you still had this number. but uh... look, i know you've got no reason to want to hear from me or whatever, but i saw the update from the hawkins post and... i just wanted to say i'm sorry. about your friend." he still felt like a royal ass but he'd at least get this out before she hung up on him.
nancy: it sounded like steve, it said it was steve, but the tone was so different then how he sounded that day in the alley. however the second he mentioned the paper, nancy had to pull over. what the hell was he doing calling her and acting like he cared? "uh yeah...thanks." she said quietly. in reality she had been crying since she heard the news and it was confirmed by her parents. however, she wasnt going to let him know that. "is there anything else you need?" she needed to get him off the phone before she lost the small amount of control she had.
Nancy📱 Robin
Robin: I'm glad you agree, I'm a completely sane person, all the time. Well, unless Vickie is around then it's like I stop knowing how to act like a human being and turn into a potato.
Robin: And how did that go? What did he say?
nancy: ahhh vickie. how is that going by the way?
nancy: how do you think? We cant stand each other.
steve 📞→ nancy
steve: this was a longshot. really. the fact that he'd left this number in his phone as long as he had was equal parts impressive and pathetic. he wasn't even sure if it was the same one. but it felt wrong not to try. the breaking news article wasn't one he could ignore, nor the name attached to it. so against his better judgment, he hit send on the contact name 'wheeler' and pressed the phone to his ear. maybe it would be a wrong number and he'd be saved having to explain himself.
nancy: she was beside herself. the fact that she had found out at work that her best friend was missing, it made her have to leave. her boss had brought her into her office and sat her down, told her the news and told her to go home. but how could she? all she wanted to do was go and look for barb, find her at her house and let it all be some kind of sick joke. first will and now barb...who was next? her phone was ringing and nancy pulled over on the side of the road, the unfamiliar number one that she really didnt wanna answer but it could have been work. "this is nancy."
Text to>>Nancy :3
Daisy:Yes!
Daisy: Exactly.
Daisy: No, he did not recognize me at all.
nancy: wow. im gonna fucking kill him.
Nancy📱 Robin
Robin: Really? Damn, that's low. Are you really that surprised though? Sounds like something Douche Steve would do.
Robin: I mean, I've never had an insanity phase, I don't know what you're talking about 😁😋
nancy: oh im so sorry, you're right. queen robin has never had an insanity phase.
nancy: look, im going to tell you something...he came to see me after i left.
nancy: so i think i may have a hand in how hes acting now but who the hell knows.
