Gaza today is broken in ways that are hard to describe. Everything has changed, and the homes that were once full of life are now just memories. Tents are everywhere, as if we are living through an ending that never ends.

Many people write about us with beautiful words, and express our pain through poetry and music, but the truth is, that doesn’t ease what we are going through. We don’t just need words, we need real support to keep going.

Every day we try to hold on, but the exhaustion keeps growing, and the fear never leaves us, especially with my father’s illness and his constant need for treatment.

i don’t understand how neil gaiman intellectual properties still trend on here so regularly he literally trafficked women. like it’s not even a discourse thing or a “he’s problematic” thing he was “cancelled” for human trafficking. he repeatedly isolated women, usually his or his ex-wife’s fans, with no support system for the purpose of raping them while they were dependent on him for income and housing. that’s human trafficking

This is in the same vein as when a friend tells me ab her boyfriend and it increasingly sounds like he just does NOT like her. Also marriages that should’ve been dissolved a long time ago. Like sometimes you have to pause whatever it is going through ur mind (be it the highlight reel of ur friendship/relationship or whatever else it is) and legitimately just ask if they even like you. Like would someone who liked you, let alone loved you, do this to you??

I'm Autumn and I'm fundraising for a new wheelchair. I am a disabled student about to begin my third year of university.

hello! i'm posting this on behalf of my good friend autumn, who is in desperate need of a manual wheelchair that fits their body and their needs.

they are a non-ambulatory full-time wheelchair user. their current chair was built four years ago, and in that time their needs have changed drastically. their current chair is no longer suitable or even safe, and using it is causing significant damage to their body that could be avoided by having one built to their body as it is now. the corwdfunder page has more details.

the "empathy fatigue" stuff is also very revealing because when you examine health professionals' self-reporting on the matter there is a specific type of person they describe losing empathy for- unsurprisingly, it's people with particularly chronic health issues and disability, drug users, people who "refuse to take care of themselves" and especially anyone with a health condition perceived to be "their own fault". very often what they describe as "empathy fatigue" is actually just the mask slipping on the seething contempt they already held
